AFL Live Western Bulldogs vs St Kilda Saints Stream AFL Football 2015 Online, AFL Round 06 Match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Saturday 09 May 2015 online, 14.10pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
It’s the in-form Western Bulldogs that will play host to the St Kilda Football club on Saturday afternoon. A month ago, plenty would’ve scoffed at the thought of the Western Bulldogs sitting in the top four at 4-1 after five rounds, given the circumstances of what happened at the end of last season. Last week’s win over Sydney Swans in horrid conditions at the SCG showed how greatly improved this football club has become in such short time, and should they continue to play like that all season long, a spot in the finals is assured.
Despite sitting 16th on the ladder with only a win to their name, St Kilda have shown at times throughout the season that they are no pushovers. They really should have won last week against Essendon, but a couple of easy Adam Schnieder misses late cost them the game. The Bulldogs cannot afford to treat the Saints lightly on Saturday.
Both sides have made two changes for this upcoming clash.
The Bulldogs will welcome back Brett Goodes into the line-up for the first time since the round three belting from Hawthorn, and Lachie Hunter will play his first game of 2015 after a string of stand-out performances in the VFL. Lin Jong will miss this week and possibly the next after injuring his hand in last week’s win over the Swans, while Matthew Boyd will be rested after pulling up sore during the week.
St Kilda will welcome back club stalwarts Leigh Montagna and Nick Riewoldt with open arms. These are big ins for the Saints, Montagna returns after being sidelined with a knee injury in round one and Riewoldt injuring his calf in round two. Making way for the Saints duo is ex-Swan Tim Membrey and youngster Blake Acres.
It might show 3rd versus 16th in the AFL record, but one gets the feeling that it’ll be a lot closer than what the ladder suggests. The Bulldogs have won the last two encounters over the Saints, but they haven’t been easy battles. They won by nine points in their match in 2013, and last year they nearly gave up a match-winning lead late in the game before running out 23-point winners.
