AFL Live Collingwood Magpies vs Gold Coast Suns Stream AFL 2016 Seasons Week 22 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Saturday 20 August 2016 online, 19.25 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Both sides are looking to salvage pride from the season, and build to 2017.
Collingwood have lost two in a row, and four of their last five, but have been in solid form for a good two months. They fought tooth and nail in going down to the Dogs last week, in a performance full of merit.
Gold Coast put up their most disappointing performance since Round 10 in going down to Essendon, which was their third loss in a row, but the only one of those they were heavily expected to win. Prior to that, losing by single figure margins to Melbourne and GWS was respectable.
Collingwood and Gold Coast have met five times, with the Pies holding a 3-2 advantage. The two sides have never met at Etihad.
Collingwood have started $1.60 or less six times in 2016, for two wins at -52% POT and 33% ATS.
Gold Coast have only won once as underdog this season. They have covered the line in three of their last four matches. They have one win from eight interstate matches this season, at -14% POT and 50% ATS.
Brodie Grundy has averaged 115 Fantasy points in his last three games and against Gold Coast’s rookie ruckman Keegan Brooksby, he should have field day. He’s paying $7 and shouldn’t be overlooked at that value. Under the Etihad roof, I’ll be expecting plenty of clean ball movement across the back half by the Pies. Jeremy Howe pulled in 11 marks last week and is paying $5.50 to do it again.
This becomes an interesting match to assess, with both sides having similar years. Both have been decimated by injury throughout the season, and played their worst football in the first half of the year, before putting together a strong of competitive performances over the last two months.
The Pies had a downer against Richmond two weeks back, while Gold Coast had theirs against Essendon last round. Collingwood bounced back, and we can expect the Suns to as well.
The Pies will have the midfield class edge, but the Suns are stronger in the key positions at either end. A tough match to be confident on, but Gold Coast appear a touch of overs, and can be in it all game, even if the safest prediction is the home side prevailing.
