AFL Live Essendon Bombers vs St Kilda Saints Stream AFL Football 2015 Online, AFL Round 14 Match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Sunday 05 July 2015 online, 13.10pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Essendon Bombers are looking for a much needed win after losing four straight whilst the Saints are after another win following their close loss to the Bulldogs in round 13.
The Bombers will be without Jake Carlisle for up to six weeks with a knee injury. David Zaharakis, Patrick Ambrose, Ben Howlett and Heath Hocking are in the mix to return. Former Saints Brendon Goddard and James Gwilt will line up against their old side. They’re without three players from their best 22. For the Saints, Paddy McCartin, Hugh Goddard, Daniel McKenzie and Jack Billings are close to a call up with Sam Fisher needing to pass a fitness test in order to play.
The Saints (14th on the ladder) and Essendon (13th) both have a 4-8 record. The Saints rank 13th in scoring and 15th in defence. They are 3-3 (4-2 against the line) vs bottom ten teams this season. The Bombers are 16th in scoring but 10th in most points conceded this season. They are 3-2 (2-3 against the line) vs bottom ten teams in 2015.
Essendon and St Kilda have met 209 times with the Bombers leading 140-65-4. Essendon lead 12-7 all time at Etihad Stadium. The Bombers have won six of their last eight (5-3 against the line) vs St Kilda by an average of 23 points. Essendon is 13-11 (9-15 against the line) at the Dome since the start of 2013. St Kilda is 9-21 (15-15 against the line) at the Docklands since the start of 2013. The Saints are 1-2 (0-3 against the line) following a bye/week off since the start of 2013. Their last two games have totalled under 163-points though the four prior to that were all over 182-points.
The Wolf just cannot back Essendon in their current form with their inability to score highlighted by an average of just 61 points in their last four games. They will need to reshuffle the forward line once more with the loss of Carlisle whilst Joe Daniher needs to find some consistency in front of goal. The Saints have shown a preparedness to work hard, put pressure on starting with their small forwards and have developed a multi-focal forward line around Riewoldt, Bruce and Membrey. They just need Jack Steven, David Armitage and Joey Montagna to fire and they will be right in this.
