Australian Football League Essendon Bombers vs St Kilda Saints Live Stream Free, AFL 2019 Round 02 Live Stream. Essendon Bombers vs St Kilda Saints match will be kickoff at Marvel Stadium, Docklands, Australia, Saturday 30 March 2019 online, 16:35 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Without doubt the most disappointing team of round one after suffering a 72-point loss, the Essendon Bombers will look to make amends when they host the St Kilda Saints at Marvel Stadium.
It was a truly woeful performance the Bombers offered their fans last week for virtually the entire 120 minutes of footy (losing all the important stats), and if it wasn’t for some poor goal kicking by their opponents, a 100-plus point loss would have been registered.
With just a six-day break, coach John Worsfold would have had a difficult decision this week – give the players a tough week on the track as punishment for what they offered in round one, or give them a freshen up and hope the rest does the players’ minds and bodies some good.
St Kilda enter the week following a heart thumping one point round one victory. And while that win was only over wooden spoon favourites Gold Coast, considering four points may be few and far between this year, it surely left smiles on the faces of many a Saints’ fan.
Look for the first name ‘Jack’ to feature predominantly when discussing St Kilda this year. Jack Steele, Jack Lonie, Jack Newnes, Jack Stevens, Jack Billings and Jack Sinclair were all amongst the best players last week.
A key area Essendon will need to improve is centre clearances which they were smashed in round one, losing the count 12-6. St Kilda led the league in total kicks last week with 234, while their ball pressure was also effective as they produced 71 tackles which has them ranked second in the competition.
Players to watch: Despite playing 84% of last week’s game, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (Bombers) could only manage five disposals. Another effort like that and round three will be played in the reserves.
In his first ever AFL game last week, Irishmen Darragh Joyce (Saints) looked poised in his defensive role, though he would want to curb the six free kicks he gave away.
These two teams have split the last ten H2H matches 5-5. Playing at home as a favourite in 2018, the Bombers were undefeated 4-0.
St Kilda have won just two of their past 11 away matches.
