Australian Football League Live Adelaide Crows vs Port Adelaide Power Stream AFL 2015 Seasons Week 05 math will be kick off at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia Sunday 03 May 2015 online, 16.40pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Massive game to end round 5 with the Adelaide Oval set to be rocking. The Crows are looking for consecutive Showdown wins for the first time in a couple of years.
The Crows have dropped under-performing defender Kyle Hartigan with Kyle Cheney his direct replacement. Whilst the Power welcome back Robbie Gray with Cam O’Shea and Karl Amon both in the extended squad.
The Crows were top of the ladder before crashing back to earth win a heavy loss to the Bulldogs. They rank fifth in points per game and second in clearances per game. The Power, hot off an upset over Hawthorn, are 13th on the ladder with a 2-2 record. They have had the hardest opening to the year with a narrow loss to Freo and a heavy loss to Sydney before beating North and the Hawks.
Chad Wingard v Luke Brown – Wingard is fast becoming Mr Showdown – he averages 22 disposals and four goals in his last three games against the Crows before the round 15 game last year which he was held to just 11 touches and zero goals. He’s had a slow start to the year but is very much a big game player.
In 37 Showdowns since Port entered the competition in 1997, the Power lead head-to-head match-ups 20-17. Since 2010, Port are both 6-4 straight and against the line in Showdowns. Port Adelaide has won ten of their 15 games (10-5 against the line) at the Adelaide Oval. The Crows are 8-6 (7-7 against the line) at the Adelaide Oval. Five of the last seven Showdown’s have totalled over 190-points. Kane Cornes averages 29 touches in his last four Showdowns.
It may be an intense game but picking Port Adelaide was quite easy. They are coming off a massive win over Hawthorn with their run and carry spliting the game apart in the first half. They should be able to work their way through Adelaide’s press and exploit their forward advantage with Paddy Ryder, Justin Westhoff and Jay Schulz looking to over-power and out-muscle an under-sized Adelaide defence. The ever underrated Brad Ebert is a nice shot for the Showdown Medal too.
