Australian Football League Live Fremantle Dockers vs Carlton Blues Stream AFL 2016 Seasons Week 05 match will be kick off at Subiaco Oval Stadium, Subiaco, Western Australia, Australia, Sunday 24 April 2016 online, 16.15 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Fremantle and Carlton are struggling to make an impact on the season, as the only two winless teams remaining.
There are no confirmed outs for either side at this stage, with the balance of each team unlikely to change a great deal. Carlton have an experienced trio ready to go if required, while Freo are looking to push youth a little more.
To the naked eye, Fremantle’s football has been getting progressively better over the last four weeks, to the point where they have been within striking distance in the last quarter of both West Coast and North in the last two rounds.
Carlton is battling honestly, but hasn’t had an easy three weeks, having to face Gold Coast away, and quality sides like Sydney and Western Bulldogs. Another undesirable trip confronts them here, against a hungry Dockers outfit desperate for a win and playing at home.
Fremantle has won their last three against Carlton, including two at Domain Stadium, by an average of 28 points. The Dockers are one of only two sides yet to cover the line so far this season.
As much as Fremantle have been getting better, the doubts of not yet having won a game must linger.
The Dockers are allowing opposition sides to score at a higher rate than ever seen before against a Ross Lyon coached side, but Carlton has a forward-line that simply isn’t up to AFL standard.
The Blues have been matching sides well enough at the contest, but are being broken open on the outside. In their last three losses, they have a contested possession differential of -8 per game, but an uncontested possession differential of -57, which is the exact same number the Dockers are down per game this season. Both sides get their chance to run the ball against a side not great at preventing it.
Fremantle have their chance to get their toe into the season, and they have too much talent across the park not to. It’s a tough game to find a good bet on though. Perhaps Michael Walters is due to tear a game apart up forward.
