Australian Football League Live Fremantle Dockers vs Melbourne Demons Stream AFL 2015 Seasons Week 22 math will be kick off at Domain Stadium, Perth, Western Australia, Australia, Sunday 30 August 2015 online, 16.40 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Fremantle Dockers look to feast on their recent bunnies whilst the Dees look to regain some pride after their worst performance of the year last week.
For the Dockers, Matthew Pavlich, Clancee Pearce and debutant Ed Langdon come into the team with Brownlow favourite Nat Fyfe (leg), Hayden Crozier (omit) and Alex Pearce (omit) all out. They are without just two of their best 22. For the Dees, Jake Spencer, Nev Jetta, Matt Jones and debutant Oscar McDonald are added at the expense of Heritier Lumumba (ankle), Chris Dawes (ankle), James Harmes (omit) and Angus Brayshaw (rest). They are without as many as eight of their best 22.
The Dockers are first on the ladder despite consecutive losses for the first time this year. They have not lost three in a row under Ross Lyon – the last time was round 10, 2012. Fremantle is averaging 87-points per game in the last six weeks. Freo is 11-0 (6-5 against the line) vs bottom-ten teams this year. The Demons are 14th on the ladder having lost four of their past five games and having averaged just 55-points in the last two weeks. They were horrific in a winnable game against Carlton last week after being very poor against the Bulldogs the week prior to that.
The Demons and Dockers have played 33 times with Freo leading 20-13. Since 2010, Freo is 7-1 (6-2 against the line) vs Melbourne. The Dockers have won the last six games against the Dees by an average of 68-points. Melbourne average just 39-points per game in their last four matches against Fremantle. Under Ross Lyon, the Dockers are 40-9 (27-22 against the line) at Patersons Stadium – 20-4 (12-12 against the line) in the last two seasons. Melbourne is 4-20 (6-18 against the line) when travelling outside of Victoria since 2011 and 1-9 (4-6 against the line) under Paul Roos when on the road. Melbourne has not won in Perth since round 11, 2004 losing 15 in a row since then. Since 2010, the Dees are 0-6 (1-5 against the line) in Perth. Freo is 9-4 (6-7 against the line) following a loss since the start of 2013 and have not lost two in a row all year. They are 2-0 (1-1 against the line) on a two match losing streak under Ross Lyon. The Dees are 4-12 (but 9-7 against the line) when facing a line of 30 or more under Paul Roos. Teams favoured by 40-points or more are 11-1 (5-8 against the line) this year. Five of the past seven games have totalled over 159-points.
The Dees are up against it to match the Dockers this weekend with another thrashing in the works. They will respond for captain Nathan Jones’ 200th but they simply lack the class and scoring prowess to trouble the finals-bound Dockers. They lacked the not only the intent but skill to beat the hapless Carlton and Freo will smell blood in the water. Fremantle needs to bounce back after consecutive losses and after a fast start last week they scored just five goals in the final three quarters and they must rectify that to challenge for a Premiership. The Dockers should dominate in the midfield, whilst Jesse Hogan will be up against it to hold down the fort against tall defenders Luke McPharlin, Zac Dawson and Michael Johnson. Though Melbourne might struggle to score, the Dockers will put up enough points to make this one go over the total match points line. They haven’t topped 100-points since round 8 but are very well placed to do so again this week.
