North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs are set to take part in a history-making clash when they meet at Etihad Stadium on Friday April 14.
It will be the first ever AFL game to be played on Good Friday and a big crowd is expected for the Round 4 encounter.
The game gets underway at 4.20PM and will be broadcast on Channel 7 and Fox Footy. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.
North Melbourne is one of three clubs that are yet to register a win in season 2017 and head in as underdogs for Friday’s clash. The Kangaroos came so close in Round 2, missing out by a solitary point to Geelong, while last weekend they were knocked over to the tune of 42 points by premiership fancies, G.W.S.
The Western Bulldogs opened their account with two wins to start the year before having what may considered to be an ‘off’ night losing to Fremantle by 16 points in Round 3.
The Bulldogs are expected to bounce back here and lead the Kangaroos in a number of measures so far this year, including disposals, contested possessions and tackles.
Luke Dahlhaus, Marcus Bontempelli, Lachie Hunter and last year’s Norm Smith Medal winner, Jason Johannisen, have all been finding plenty of the footy so far this season and should provide enough supply for the Bulldogs forwards.
An area that North can control is the hitouts and with new recruit, Braydon Preuss in outstanding form the Roos onballers can gain first use.
However, coach Brad Scott will need his side to be more clean with the football. Skill errors and turnovers proved costly against the Giants and they can ill-afford a repeat of this against the Doggies.
