Australian Football League Live Richmond Tigers vs Gold Coast Suns Stream AFL 2015 Seasons Week 20 math will be kick off at Melbourne Cricket Ground Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Sunday 16 August 2015 online, 13.10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Richmond Tigers are one of the only sides that Gold Coast has a winning record against in the AFL and they look to make it four from five against Richmond in this one.
The Tigers could make as many as six changes with Brett Deledio, Matt Dea, Matt Thomas, Nathan Gordon, Steven Morris, Matt Thomas and Liam McBean all in the squad. Dylan Grimes (hamstring), Reece Conca (hamstring) and Shaun Hampson (omitted) are out of the side that lost to Adelaide. They join Shane Edwards and Ben Griffiths as best 22 members who are missing. For the Suns, Sean Lemmens (omitted) is out with Josh Hall, Zac Smith, Josh Glenn and Jarrod Garlett all potentially in. They have as many as eight of their best 22 out for this game including their four best midfielders.
The Tigers are down to seventh on the ladder after losing two of their last three games though they did beat Hawthorn a week ago. They rank 12th in scoring but fourth in least points conceded this season having averaged just 72-points per game in their last five weeks. Richmond is 7-3 (6-4 against the line) vs bottom ten sides this season. The Suns are in arguably the best form of their season having drawn with West Coast two weeks ago and then they beat Brisbane last week to just about ensure they will not finish last. They rank 14th in scoring and 16th in points conceded but they are averaging 92-points per game in their last six weeks. They are 0-8-1 (4-5 against the line) vs top eight teams this year
The Suns are 3-1 (4-0 against the line) vs Richmond. The Suns are 5-22 (13-14 against the line) away from Metricon Stadium in the last three seasons – including 3-13 (6-10 against the line) in the last two years. Gold Coast is 2-6 (3-5 against the line) at the MCG. The Tigers are 10-12 (10-12 against the line) at the MCG since the start of 2014. The Suns are 3-20-1 (9-15 against the line) without Gary Ablett in the side. Richmond is 13-7 (9-11 against the line) when starting as favourite in 2014-15. Three of their four match-ups have totalled under 157-points. As of the start of round 20, teams favoured by 30-points or more are 30-6 (16-20 against the line) this season. The Tigers are 8-8 (12-4 against the line) following a loss in the last two seasons. Tom Lynch has kicked 13 goals in his last three games.
The Wolf is keen to take the unders in this one despite Gold Coast’s twin towers of Charlie Dixon and Tom Lynch providing plenty of scoring punch for the Suns recently. The Tigers play a brand of football that tries to deny possession to the opposition whilst Alex Rance should be able to nullify Dixon. With a superior midfield advantage, Richmond should get their hands on the ball first and control the tempo of this game from the outset. In the last two years, the Tigers have bounced back very well from a loss covering the line in 12 of 16 games and their midfield has a significant advantage in this one. They should be able to dominate at the clearances and give their forwards good supply en route to a nice win whilst keeping Gold Coast to a low total.
