Australian Football League Live West Coast Eagles vs Collingwood Magpies Stream AFL 2016 Seasons Week 06 match will be kick off at Subiaco Oval Stadium, Subiaco, Western Australia, Australia, Sunday 01 May 2016 online, 16.40 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Eagles are expected to bounce back on their favoured home turf, while the Pies are looking to build on last week’s win.
Scott Lycett will return to the Eagles line-up after missing a week through suspension, in place of Fraser McInnes.
Travis Varcoe is out again after lasting just two match on his return from injury, and Tom Langdon should come back into the side, in the only change to a winning line-up.
West Coast are yet to prove their credibility in 2016, with wins over lowly Brisbane, Richmond and Fremantle in Perth, while they haven’t been able to get near the likes of Hawthorn or Sydney away from home.
Collingwood ran rings around a non-competitive Essendon in the first half on ANZAC day, after two weeks of sorry losses against St Kilda and Melbourne. It’s hard to know if they are now on their way, and it is worth noting the Dons out-scored them after half-time last week.
Collingwood have won seven of the last ten matches against West Coast, but only two of these games have been played in Perth, with the Eagles victorious in both, by 49 and 60 points respectively.
The Pies have won six from 16 when interstate under Buckley, at -31% POT, 50% ATS and 75% at the under. They haven’t won in Perth since their premiership year, 2011.
West Coast are 19 from 24 against travelling visitors at Domain Stadium under Adam Simpson, at 7% POT, and 71% ATS. They are unbeaten in this circumstance when starting $1.30 or shorter, and are 92% ATS as well.
West Coast are on their way to being labelled flat track bullies, given a 3-0 record in Perth and a 0-2 record away, with the losses by a combined 14 goals. There is nothing to be proven in this match, where they should be too strong for a Collingwood that may have turned a corner last week, but if they haven’t, will be plundered once more.
The Eagles defend their home ground so well, and if they apply the sort of pressure we saw against Richmond two weeks back, they’ll win again by a similar margin, given it is the Pies achille’s heel.
Collingwood will find it hard to stop West Coast from scoring freely.
