Australian Football League Geelong Cats vs Essendon Bombers Live Stream Free, AFL 2019 JLT Series Live Stream. Geelong Cats vs Essendon Bombers match will be kickoff at GMHBA Stadium, South Geelong, Australia, Thursday 07 March 2019 online, 19:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Essendon and Geelong have regained some of their biggest names for their final pre-season hitout.
The Cats have named Gary Ablett for his first JLT Series appearance while Tom Hawkins is also set to suit up after being a late withdrawal last week.
The Bombers have included crafty forward Orazio Fantasia, ruckman Tom Bellchambers, David Myers as well as youngsters Sam Draper, Dylan Clarke and Brayden Ham.
The clash at GMHBA will pit two finals contenders against each other in a mouth-watering match-up ahead of Round 1.
Rookie ruckman Zac Clarke has been dropped in favour of young big man Draper who will partner Bellchambers as Essendon consider playing two rucks in their season opener against GWS.
Young Cats Charlie Constable, Darcy Fort and mature-age draftee Tom Atkins have held their places as they eye Round 1 AFL debuts.
GARY Ablett will play a competitive game for the first time this pre-season when Geelong faces Essendon at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night.
The Bombers will field David Myers, Tom Bellchambers and Orazio Fantasia for their only JLT Community Series games, while Joe Daniher will back up from limited game time in last week’s clash with Carlton.
Dual Brownlow medallist Ablett has already missed an unofficial practice match against North Melbourne and last week’s trip to Perth to face West Coast.
It will be the first glimpse of Ablett in his much-hyped new forward role.
He’ll be joined in the forward line by Tom Hawkins, who will play after suffering a bout of gastro last week.
Bombers fans will see draftee Brayden Ham for the first time, after he was taken with pick No.72 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft.
Rookie-listed ruckman Sam Draper also gets a call up, as does midfielder Dylan Clarke who played a single senior game last season.
Dayne Beams was one of the biggest names to move clubs during last October’s trade period. And Collingwood’s returning favourite son didn’t take long to deliver. While All-Australian stars Scott Pendlebury (34 disposals and 16 contested possessions) and Steele Sidebottom (34 disposals and eight inside 50s) dazzled against Fremantle in the JLT Community Series on Monday night, Beams showed why he is going to be such an asset to Collingwood’s engine room this year. The former Brisbane skipper collected 25 disposals, six marks, four rebound 50s and kicked a goal in just under three quarters game time.
And he wasn’t the only player who didn’t play last year who dazzled in Western Australia. Jamie Elliott missed the entire season for the second time in three years, but showed glimpses of his brilliance against the Dockers, kicking two goals of his own.
Prized Dockers recruit Jesse Hogan touched the ball just six times in a low key debut, while former Giant Rory Lobb made an impact first-up, collecting 20 disposals and 20 hit-outs.
Andrew Brayshaw was one of Ross Lyon’s prime moves in his first game since being hit by Andrew Gaff last season, gathering 25 disposals, four clearances and four inside 50s.
