Australian Football League Live Gold Coast Suns vs Collingwood Magpies Stream AFL 2015 Seasons Week 08 math will be kick off at Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia Saturday 23 May 2015 online, 16.35pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
In their corresponding fixture in 2014, Gary Ablett injured his shoulder but the Suns managed to win by 5-points. That seems like a lifetime ago with the Suns winning just two games since then. The pies have lost their last two and are looking to bounce back in a big way.
If you weren’t already aware, the Suns have been seriously hit by injuries. Ablett, Day, Malceski, Martin, O’Meara, Saad, Swallow, Tape and Thompson, May are all missing with Tom Lynch a chance to come back. The Pies are sweating on a fitness test from Steele Sidebottom (thumb), Alan Toovey (knee) and Jackson Ramsay (shin) with Levi Greenwood still a month away with an ankle.
Collingwood is 7th on the ladder with a 4-3 record. They’ve lost their last two to Geelong and Richmond but had beaten St Kilda, Essendon and Carlton before that. They rank 7th in points scored and 5th in least points conceded in 2015. The Suns are equal last on the table with a solitary win over Brisbane to their credit. They’ve lost their last two games by a combined total of 133 points. They are 14th in total points scored and second last in total points conceded.
Collingwood is 2-2 (2-2 against the line) vs Gold Coast. Gold Coast is 14-11 (15-10 at the line) at Metricon Stadium in the last three seasons – 8-6 (9-5 against the line) in 2014-15. The Suns are 2-15 (4-13 against the line) without Gary Ablett in the side. Collingwood is 9-8 (8-9 against the line) when playing interstate since the start of 2012 – including 3-3 (2-4 against the line) in 2014-15. Their last two games have not exceeded a 163-point total – both being at Metricon Stadium. Seven games in round 7 finished over the total points line.
Decimated by injury and yet to fully grasp Rodney Eade’s game plan, the Suns are a rabble. Fresh off a confidence boosting win over Brisbane they have been spanked in their last two games. The Pies have experienced somewhat of a reality check in recent weeks but have the talent to turn it around this week. Nathan Buckley has publicly stated his team will focus on not giving up quick points, so expect them to lock down and really try to retain possession for long stretches of this game. Pies and unders look the play.
