AFL Live GWS Giants vs Carlton Blues Stream AFL Football 2015 Online, AFL Round 22 Match will be kick off at Spotless Stadium, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Saturday 28 August 2015 online, 13.45 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Carlton Blues played their best game in nearly two months when defeating the Dees last weekend whilst the Giants just gave up against the Swans in what was on their most disappointing efforts for the year.
The Blues will be without captain Marc Murphy (shoulder) with Troy Menzel, Michael Jamison and Matthew Kreuzer all needing to pass fitness tests in order to play. They will have as many as six of their best 22 missing. After a heavy loss to the Swans, the Giants could make some big changes. Adam Tomlinson, Tom Downie, Jacob Townsend and Jake Barrett are in contention. They have as many as five of their best team also out.
The Giants have lost four of their last five games to be 11th on the ladder and officially out of the finals race. GWS is 8-3 (6-5 against the line) vs bottom ten teams this season. The Blues have won just one of their past seven games though it was last week against a hapless Melbourne side. Carlton is 4-6 (7-3 against the line) against bottom ten teams this season. They average just 58.5 points per game through their past eight games.
The Blues 2-2 (1-3 against the line) vs GWS. Carlton is 4-10 (5-9 against the line) when playing interstate since 2013 and have covered the line in their two of their three interstate trips under John Barker. The Giants have a 10-18 (17-11 against the line) record at Spotless Stadium. The Giants are 9-3 (7-5 against the line) when starting as favourite in their short history. Giants are 1-3 (2-2 against the line) when on a two game losing streak since the start of 2014. The Blues are 3-7 (6-4 against the line) following a win in the last two seasons. Three of their four match-ups have totalled over 191-points.
The Giants have far too much talent to let this one slip with key forwards Jeremy Cameron and Jon Patton set for big days. Happy to cast last weekend’s disappointment by GWS as an abberation and in their last home game of the year they will be desperate for a win. With Murphy out, the Blues have arguably three of their best four midfielders missing and their depth is simply not sufficient enough to compete with the class of Griffen, Shaw, Whitfield, Ward and Kelly. Unlike the Dees, GWS has the ability to win the midfield battle and up forward they look to have far too many weapons for the Blues to compete against.
