Australian Football League Live Hawthorn Hawks vs Collingwood Magpies Live Stream Free, AFL 2017 Seasons Week 15. Hawthorn Hawks vs Collingwood Magpies match will be kickoff at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Sunday 02 July 2017 online, 15:20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Hawthorn and Collingwood are both anchored in the bottom third of the ladder – rare for both teams in recent years – and know any hope of an unlikely finals charge must begin here.
Hawthorn have a 5-8 record and are down on the 16th rung of the ladder but they have pulled off some spectacular upsets this year including Adelaide and Sydney on the road and West Coast and Melbourne in Melbourne. Hawthorn have conceded fewer than 100 in seven straight games. The Hawks rank 16th in both attack and defence.
Collingwood are 13th on the ladder, also with a 5-8 record. They rank 13th in scoring and eighth in defence. They have dropped their last two after putting together three straight wins. Collingwood are 3-6 at the MCG this year. The Magpies have scored 90-plus in five of their last six matches.
The equation is simple for Hawthorn. A win will see them finish top four at the conclusion of the round but a loss will see them squander the double chance, which will put a fair dint in their hopes of capturing a history making fourth flag in a row later on.
The Hawks head in as favourites and are expected to win, but Collingwood have been in some fine form of late and will be no pushovers.
The Magpies come off a big win against a disappointing Gold Coast outfit last weekend and just went down to the Western Bulldogs the week prior to that.
On the same weekend, Hawthorn were left licking their wounds after going down to the West Coast Eagles in Perth, but they have the superior form this year with 16 wins compared to the Magpies, who have won nine.
The Hawks should be much better back at the MCG and will trouble the Magpies with their class up forward. Jack Gunston, Cyril Rioli and Luke Breust all sit in the top 15 for goals scored this year, while Collingwood’s leading goal scorers in Alex Fasolo and Darcy Moore will be out of action due to injury
An area that the Hawks will want to improve in is in the air, as they have been outmarked in this area in recent weeks. Travis Cloke comes back in for the Magpies in what could be his last game for the club and the maligned forward can trouble the Hawks with his contested marking.
