AFL Live Hawthorn Hawks vs Gold Coast Suns Stream AFL Football 2015 Online, AFL Round 09 Match will be kick off at Aurora Stadium, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia Saturday 30 May 2015 online, 13.45pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Hawthorn Hawks are looking to bounce back after losing to Sydney whilst the beleaguered Suns just looking to field a side at this point, such is their decimated injury list.
The decimated Suns will be without key midfielders Dion Prestia (knee), Gary Ablett (shoulder), David Swallow and Jaeger O’Meara with Nick Malceski…. Steven May will return from suspension whilst Matt Shaw, Andrew Boston and Jack Martin are also chances to be recalled. For the Hawks, Luke Hodge will also return from suspension and Ben McEvoy (hamstring) also a chance to return. Brian Lake will have to pass a fitness test on his injured knee.
The Hawks are in the unfamiliar position of seventh on the ladder with a 4-4 record having lost two of their last three games (GWS and Sydney). They rank second in points scored and 5th in least points conceded this season. Whilst the battling Suns are 17th on the ladder having lost their past three games by an average of 67-points. They have conceded the 2nd most amount of points this season and are 14th in points scored this season.
Hawthorn has won all six of its games against Gold Coast by an average of 54 points. Gold Coast is 3-3 at the line vs the Hawks. The Hawks are 34-11 at their adopted home – winning 12 in a row since 2012 by an average of 56 points. They’ve gone 19-2 (14-7 against the line) in Launceston since 2010. Ten of the last 12 Hawthorn matches at Aurora Stadium have gone over 180-points. The Hawks are 2-0 both head to head and against the line vs Gold Coast in Tasmania. The Suns are 5-18 (12-11 against the line) away from Metricon Stadium in the last three seasons – including 3-9 (5-7 against the line) in the last two years. The Suns are 2-16 (4-14 against the line) without Gary Ablett in the side. Four of their six match-ups have totalled over 193-points. The Hawks are 9-1 (8-2 against the line) coming off a loss in 2013-15 period.
Gold Coast is a shadow of its former self with their entire starting midfield missing for this game. A second string midfield is simply not going to cut it against a Hawks team that will be desperate to get back onto the winners list. The only thing preventing Hawthorn from covering this mammoth line is themselves. After their shock loss to GWS, they responded by thrashing the Dees (by 105-points) and after a loss to the Swans, a similar result is in play against Gold Coast.
