AFL 2014 Live North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Hawthorn Hawks match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne,Friday 04 July 2014 online, Time 19:50 AEDT and its broadcast on Fox Footy.
The Hawks will make at least one enforced change with Cyril Rioli out for two months with a hamstring injury. Veteran midfielder Sam Mitchell could come straight back into the side if he proves his fitness from his own hamstring complaint. Whilst Ben McEvoy is likely to continue to bide his time in the VFL. North coach Brad Scott forecasted at least two players will be dropped from the side that lost to Brisbane with Ryan Bastinac, Brad McKenzie, Aaron Black and Ben Brown in the frame to be axed whilst Jack Ziebell, Lachie Hansen, Mason Wood, Trent Dumont and Liam Anthony in the selection frame.
There’s not much you can say about North’s form. They were touted as top-four contenders early in the year but sit in seventh on the ladder, two games and percentage outside of the four with recent losses to Brisbane and Adelaide. Brad Scott’s men are 3-3 against top eight teams this season. The Hawks are top of the ladder after four straight victories and have scored the most points this year.
These two played a high-intensity, entertaining game in round 22 last year. The Kangaroos led at half-time before the Hawks had too much quality in the end, running out 14-point victors. Jarryd Roughead (4 goals), Lance Franklin (5) and Luke Breust (3) all hit the scoreboard whilst Daniel Wells got the three Brownlow votes after having 27 touches and a goal.
