AFL Live Sydney Swans vs Adelaide Crows Stream AFL Football 2015 Online, AFL Round 18 Match will be kick off at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Saturday 01 August 2015 online, 16.40 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Sydney Swans had nothing to combat the Eagles’ onslaught last weekend with Isaac Heeney as their most dangerous forward and that is not a recipe for success. They look to re-assert their top four credentials against an in-form Adelaide side.
The Swans will welcome back Ted Richards (suspension) whilst they’ll be without Adam Goodes (personal). They will be hoping that Lance Franklin (back) and Mike Pyke (knee) will be available whilst Kurt Tippett is very doubtful to return. They’re likely to still be without speedster Gary Rohan (hamstring) too. The Crows will hope that fullback Daniel Talia (ill) can return with Matt Crouch, Jarryd Lyons, James Podsiadly and Andy Otten performing well in the SANFL. They’re still without Brad Crouch and Matt Jaensch from their best 22.
The desperately out of form Swans have lost their past two games by a combined total of 141-points! They are an equal league worst 5-11 against the line this year though they’re fourth on the ladder with 11 wins and five losses. They rank 10th in scoring and fourth in least points conceded this season. They are 2-4 (1-5 against the line) vs top eight teams this season.
These two have played 35 times with the Crows leading 22-13. Sydney have won their last three match-ups though the Crows had won eight of the last nine before that. Since 2010, the Swans are 4-2 both head to head and against the line vs Adelaide. Sydney is 24-6-1 (17-14) against the line at the SCG since the start of 2012, including 10-3 (5-8 against the line) since last year. Adelaide is 14-13 (13-14 against the line) when playing away from Adelaide in the last three seasons. The Crows are 11-5 at the SCG since the start of 1991 having won their past four games at the venue (since 2005). Seven of their past 10 match-ups have totalled under 164-points. Sydney is 8-5-1 (5-9 ATL) following a loss since the start of 2013. The Swans have not lost three in a row since the 2013 qualifying final. They are 2-0 (2-0 against the line) following a two game losing streak since then. Josh Kennedy is averaging over 33 possessions per game in the last month.
No Goodes, no worries for the Swans. The Wolf is as confident as ever when backing a Sydney side that has its backs against the wall. Galvanised by the treatment of their teammate by rival supporters, the Swans will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Expect this to be very hot early, the Swans gave away 11 goals from turnovers last weekend so they are sure to be more careful with ball in hand this weekend. The Crows are in good form and should be able to stick with the Swans for a long period but Sydney’s midfield superiority will get over the line in the end.
