Australian Football League Live St Kilda Saints vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Stream AFL 2016 Seasons Week 07 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria,, Australia, Sunday 08 May 2016 online, 15.20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
St Kilda will need to be at their feisty best to prevent North from going 7-0.
St Kilda will consider making no changes to a winning side, but Jack Lonie’s smarts may be required, and the height down back of Hugh Goddard may be called on.
North loses two small forwards, Lindsay Thomas and Kayne Turner, whose spots will be filled by Robin Nahas and possibly Mason Wood.
St Kilda have beaten two teams around their level, in Collingwood and Melbourne, but have struggled to beat sides they just don’t have the class to match, like GWS, Hawthorn and the Bulldogs.
North are the only team unbeaten after six rounds, and have won in a variety of styles, including high-scoring shoot-outs against Melbourne and Fremantle, and last week a low-scoring scrap against the Bulldogs. They’re playing consistent and settled football.
The teams are split 5-5 in their last ten meetings, but North has won the last four matches between them by an average of 49 points.
North have covered the line three matches in a row, and are +37% POT on the season. Since the start of 2012, they are +20% POT and 61% ATS at Etihad, but -33% POT when starting $1.60 or shorter.
St Kilda are -6% POT, 44% ATS and 46% at the under, since Alan Richardson has been in charge. These figures improve at Etihad, to be +25% POT, 50% ATS and 50% over/under. Against Victorian sides at Etihad they are 56% ATS.
North are getting better as the season progresses, and are playing with a rhythm and confidence that comes from getting reward for your work in the form of multiple wins on end. They weren’t pretty last week, but were always in control.
St Kilda are going to give consistent effort, and will attempt to undo the Roos through pressure, and with Nick Riewoldt in super form, they always have an avenue to goal. They’ll give an honest account of themselves, but not have the toughness or class to get it done.
North should be too professional from the outset, and keep the Saints at arms length.
