Watch Brisbane Lions vs West Coast Eagles Live Streaming Free 26 August Online AFL Week 23

August 25, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

AFL Live Brisbane Lions vs West Coast Eagles Live Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 23 match will be kick off at Gabba, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Sunday 26 August 2018 online, 13:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

AFL Live Stream

West Coast come off a 17 point loss to Melbourne in Round 22 and that effort has put them in danger of losing their grip on 2nd position on the ladder.

Another defeat will mean that Collingwood or Hawthorn could surpass them on the ladder, meaning that the Eagles will lose the right to host a final in week one of the upcoming finals series.

The Eagles have been posted as the $1.50 favourites for the clash against Brisbane but the Lions can present a danger to the West Australians.

Chris Fagan’s side come off a four point victory over the Gold Coast Suns and while they have only won five games this season, including just two at the GABBA, they have pushed a number of quality sides over the course of 2018.

West Coast look to have an advantage in a number of areas. They are superior in the air, ranking No.1 in the competition for marks and contested marks, while they are 2nd for hitouts.

However, they may have to do it without Jack Darling, who was concussed in the loss to Melbourne. Jeremy McGovern will be a steadying influence, while Elliot Yeo and Chris Masten loom as other keys.

Brisbane can get some ascendancy in the middle. They rank higher for contested possessions and clearances. Dayne Beams and Hugh McCluggage are in good form and if there forwards can deliver it will make for an interesting clash. The Lions registered 28 scoring shots to 19 last weekend and inaccuracy cost them a greater margin.

Brisbane are likely to be without Alex Witherden after the youngster sustained a hamstring injury in the win over Gold Coast. Oscar McInerney is expected to return from illness.

West Coast’s Jack Darling will be monitored at training after going down with concussion last weekend, while Josh Kennedy is expected to miss another game. Jake Waterman is a possible inclusion.

West Coast have dominated Brisbane in recent times, winning the past seven games between the two sides with those wins coming at an average margin of 53 points. Four of those games have been held at the GABBA.

The most recent game between the two sides was in Round 19 of 2017 at Domain Stadium and on that occasion it was the Eagles by 68 points. West Coast have won six of nine games outside of Perth this season. Brisbane have won just two of their 10 games at their home ground in 2018.

The two Queensland based sides have struggled in 2018, winning four games each. Brisbane are currently 16th on the ladder, just shading their local rivals, who are 17th.

The Lions have had the better form in recent times, winning three games in a row from Round’s 14 to 16 and while they have gone on to lose their next four, two of those were by under a goal.

The Suns have been largely dreadful since earlier in the season and have lost 14 of their past 15. Asides from a shock win over the Sydney Swans by 24 points in Round 18 they have been largely uncompetitive. Last weekend they went down by 74 point to Richmond

The Lions have been posted the $1.25 favourites for this and have a healthier list at this time of the season, with many of the Suns players succumbing to season ending injuries.

Look for Dayne Beams and Dayne Zorko to have an influence in the middle, while Harris Andrews and Luke Hodge should control proceedings in defence. Key players for the Suns include Touk Miller, Jarrod Harbrow and Jarrod Lyons but the issue for Gold Coast is likely to be their inability to kick a winning score.

The rank 17th in the competition for points for, while the Lions have fared better and are 11th in this area. They should have more run in the midfield, setting up the likes of Eric Hipwood up forward.

Gold Coast have a number of players that are done for the season and the latest casualties are Will Brodie and Pearce Hanley. Jack Srimshaw and Michael Barlow are among the possible inclusions.

Brisbane are likely to be without Darcy Gardiner after the big man dislocated his shoulder in the loss to Collingwood. Jack Frost and Ryan Lester are among those that could come in.

Brisbane have won nine of the 15 games between the two sides but Gold Coast took out the Round 5 this year by five points. Brisbane won the two ‘Q-clash’ encounters last year, scoring by 58 points at the GABBA in Round 21, while it was a two point margin to the Lions at Metricon Stadium in Round 1.

Brisbane are playing the better footy and their list is in a much healthier state than the depleted Gold Coast outfit.

AFL Football Brisbane Lions vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Live Streaming Free 04 August 2018 Saturday

AFL Live Brisbane Lions vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Live Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 20 match will be kick off at Gabba, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Saturday 04 August 2018 online, 14:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

The interest in this fixture will centre around North Melbourne’s finals chances with the Kangaroos sitting just outside the eight in 10th spot. They are just one win behind the likes of 6th placed Melbourne, Hawthorn (7th), Geelong (8th) and Sydney (9th).

Last weekend, the Roos accounted for 2nd placed West Coast by 40 points at Blundstone Arena in Hobart and they head into this as slight favourites in the early head to head betting.

Their opponents, Brisbane, are 16th on the ladder with just four wins for the season. They come off a 40 point loss at the hands of Geelong last weekend but the young side are dangerous on their day and they did enjoy a recent purple patch by winning three games on the trot.

Dayne Beams and Dayne Zorko have been among the Lions better players this year but if they Lions are to return to the form that saw them win those three games they will need big efforts from their younger players, including Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry and the No.1 draft pick, Cameron Rayner. That trio were relatively quiet in the loss to the Cats last weekend.

North look to have the upper hand as a number of their big name players are in good form, including Shaun Higgins, who is a sneaky Brownlow Medal chance at the $21 quote, while Ben Brown looms large up forward. He leads the Coleman Medal count with 51 goals and will most likely line up on Harris Andrews.

A win for the Roos may see them level up on points with a couple of sides in the eight and with games against the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide and St Kilda to follow, they can sneak into what many thought was an unlikely proposition at the start of the year, that being a finals position

Brisbane have no fresh injury concerns arising out of the Geelong loss. Claye Beams and Liam Dawson are among those that are knocking on the door for selection. North Melbourne’s Jed Anderson suffered a concussion last weekend and will be monitored at training.

North Melbourne have won the past five games between the two sides, including the Round 11 clash this year at Etihad Stadium by 54 points. On that occasion, Shaun Higgins racked up 34 disposals, while Jack Ziebell booted three goals.

The Kangaroos have won their past three at the GABBA and were 51 point winners at the venue in Round 23 of 2017. They have won all three of their interstate games this season (excluding Tasmania). Brisbane have won just two of nine at their home ground in 2018.

Geelong Cats vs Brisbane Lions match will be kickoff at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong, VIC, Australia, Saturday 28 July 2018 online, 14:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

Geelong scored one of their most remarkable wins in recent memory last weekend by defeating Melbourne by two points, courtesy of a goal after the siren by their Irish defender, Zach Tuohy.

Earlier, the Cats trailed by as much as 29 points in the last term but a seven goal haul from Tom Hawkins inspired them to the come from behind victory. However, Chris Scott’s side are precariously placed on the ladder in 9th position.

On the same night as the Cats victory in Round 18, Brisbane went down in another thriller and it was a five point deficit for the Lions against the Adelaide Crows at the GABBA. The young side enjoyed three impressive wins prior to that and can trouble Geelong.

Dayne Zorko, Dayne Beams and Daniel Rich are among some of the familiar names that have been in good form for Brisbane but it is their host of younger players that have been behind their resurgence. High draft picks in Cameron Rayner and Hugh McCluggage have been among a number that have been exciting to watch and if that group can fire then an upset is on the cards.

However, with more to play for and the hostile Kardinia Park in their favour, Geelong should be too good. They are among only four sides that are conceding less than 75 points per game this season and the likes of Gary Ablett, Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood should be hard to stop.

Geelong are unlikely to make too many changes after their sizzling win last weekend. Jamaine Jones and Quentin Narkle were among a couple of the quieter players but should hold their spots.

Brisbane are set to regain a couple of key players in Harris Andrews and Luke Hodge. Tom Bell and Ryan Bastinac are others that are in the mix.

Geelong have won their past seven against Brisbane with four of those held at GMHBA Stadium. Last year, the Cats defeated the Lions by 85 points at the GABBA in Round 16 with Patrick Dangerfield running amok on his way to 38 touches and three goals.

Brisbane have not defeated Geelong at GMHBA Stadium since 2003, when it was known as Skilled Stadium. The Lions have won just two of eight games outside of Queensland this year, while Geelong are four from five at GMHBA in 2018.

Geelong will have all the answers.

Brisbane Lions vs GWS Giants match will be kickoff at The Gabba Stadium, Woolloongabba, Australia, Saturday 23 June 2018 online, 16:35 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

The Brisbane Lions and the GWS Giants square off at the GABBA in what shapes as an interesting game in AFL Round 14.

The Saturday June 23 clash gets underway at 4.35PM and it is the Giants that head in as favourites. All the action will be broadcast on Fox Footy.

The Brisbane Lions have won just one game this season, a 56 point victory over Hawthorn at the GABBA in Round 9. They sit in 17th spot on the AFL ladder, well below the 9th placed GWS, who have won their past two.

Those wins for the Giants have come against Adelaide by 16 points and the hapless Gold Coast Suns by 108. On paper, the Brisbane clash looks to be a regulation win for the expansion club but the Lions have shown they are more than capable on their day and can spring a surprise.

They have gone down in narrow fashion in a number of their games and have some more than handy players in the midfield that could match motors with some of the Giants fleet of runners.

Dayne Zorko, Dayne Beams and Daniel Rich have been in reasonable form, while their tall timber, including Harris Andrews and Darcy Gardiner are playing better footy by the week.

Brisbane’s last match came against Essendon and the Lions can blame poor kicking for goal as a major reason for their 22 point loss.

GWS, who have struggled for consistency, will be looking to win three games in a row for the first time this year. They lead the Lions in a number of measures such as average disposals, contested possession and clearances.

Key players include Josh Kelly and Callan Ward, while it will be interesting to see if Jeremy Cameron can find the goals again after booting six majors in the recent win over the Suns.

A Giants victory will see them within striking distance of the eight. They are currently two points behind North Melbourne (8th) and Hawthorn (9th). A loss will make it hard for Leon Cameron’s side with nine games to follow.

AFL Live Brisbane Lions vs Essendon Bombers Live Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 12 match will be kick off at Gabba, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Sunday 10 June 2018 online, 13:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

AFL Live Online

Brisbane have won just one game for the season, a 56 point victory over Hawthorn in Round 9 at the venue for this weekend’s game, the GABBA. Since then, they have lost to Sydney and North Melbourne.

They were comprehensively outplayed by the Kangaroos in Round 11, going down by 54 points and to make matters worse, they suffered a number of injuries to key players.

Their opponents, Essendon, have had a topsy turvy season and come off a 71 point defeat at the hands of Richmond. Prior to that, they won two on the trot but the red and black haven’t quite lived up to pre-season expectations, winning just four of 11 in 2018.

The Bombers have the superior record but not much separates the two sides from a statistical perspective. Both are averaging just under 80 points per game, while Essendon’s defence is slightly superior.

The Bombers are also slightly ahead at some of the physical aspects of the game, such as winning the contested possessions, as well as the tackle count, but the Lions are superior at winning the clearances and the hitouts.

Key players for the home side are Stefan Martin, Dayne Beams and Dayne Zorko. Beams comes off a 32 possession/5 goal performance, while Zorko has had an excellent month of footy.

Essendon will be relying on some big performances from the likes of Dyson Heppell and Zach Merrett, while it will be interesting to see if their recruits, Jake Stringer, Devon Smith and Adam Saad, can continue their good form. Stringer played his 100th game last weekend and was the Bombers best player in the loss to the Tigers.

If the Dons are able to get over the line they will remain in the hunt for a finals birth but a loss will all but end their chances as we pass the halfway mark of the season.

Brisbane may be without as many as three players from the side that lined up against North and they are Charlie Cameron, Allen Christensen and Hugh McLuggage, who are all battling various ailments. Add Jarrod Berry to that list. The youngster pulled out before the Roos game with a hamstring injury.

Essendon will lose David Zaharakis. Ben Long, Travis Colyer and Aaron Francis are among those with solid form in the VFL and are a chance of being selected.

Brisbane have won two of the past three games between the two sides, including an upset Round 15 victory at Etihad Stadium by eight points. On that occasion, Dayne Zorko starred for the Lions, while an inaccurate Essendon were well served by Brendan Goddard and Michael Hurley.

Earlier in the year, the Bombes took out the Round 2 GABBA clash by 27 points. Essendon have won two of their past three interstate games, including a recent win over GWS by 35. Brisbane’s sole win this year was at the GABBA by 56 points over Hawthorn.

Players List:
LIONS:
B: Luke Hodge, Harris Andrews, Darcy Gardiner
HB: Daniel Rich, Tom Cutler, Alex Witherden
C: Lewis Taylor, Ryan Lester, Dayne Zorko
HF: Cameron Rayner, Eric Hipwood, Hugh McCluggage

The Roos swung the axe at selection, dropping Bastinac, Wright and Jacobs replacing them with Robin Nahas, Ben Brown and Mason Wood. The Lions omitted talented midfielder James Aish whilst veterans Tom Rockliff and Daniel Merrett will miss with injury. They added Matt Maguire, Michael Close and Zac O’Brien to replace them.

The Kangaroos rank last in kicks, second last in disposals, and third last in points following round 1. The Lions ranked fourth in contested possessions and third in clangers following their loss to Collingwood.

North Melbourne and the Lions have met 30 times with the Lions leading 15-14 with one draw. The Kangaroos have won four of the last six matches between the two teams. Since 2010, North is 5-3 (3-5 against the line) vs Brisbane. North Melbourne has won their last four of their last five games against Brisbane at Etihad Stadium by an average of 31 points. North Melbourne was 6-1 both head to head and against the line following a loss in 2014.

Who knows what North Melbourne side will front up today. They responded very well following a loss last season and will no doubt be primed to get their first win for the year. The Lions are a plucky side with a promising midfield, albeit without Rockliff and Aish, though they are severely undersized down back and lack real firepower in attack. North should bounce back in fine style.

AFL Live Stream

Saturday twilight football sees the Brisbane Lions take on the Sydney Swans at the GABBA.

The 4.35PM clash is one of five AFL games for the day and the action can be seen live on Fox Footy.

After a series of near-misses, Brisbane finally broke through for their first win of 2017 defeating Hawthorn by 56 points at the GABBA last weekend.

The victory elevated them off the bottom of the ladder and into 17th spot, one ahead of Carlton. Their opponents, Sydney, sit in 5th position and have won six of their nine games thus far.

Despite their superiority, the Swans will be respecting the Lions, who have been playing some exciting footy of late. Dayne Zorko and Dayne Beams continued their excellent form but it was a host of younger players that stood up in the win over the Hawks, including Hugh McCluggage and Eric Hipwood.

If those players can carry on from where they left off the Lions are a chance of making it two in a row, however, Sydney are a professional outfit and will be hard to beat.

Over the course of the year, the Swans rank much higher in a number of statistical measures such as winning the contested possessions and clearances. They have a number of players in good form, including Josh Kennedy, Jake Lloyd, Jarrad McVeigh and Lance Franklin, who returned from injury with a three goal haul last weekend.

Brisbane have few players on their injury list and plenty of options should they decide to drop anyone with Josh Walker, Ryan Lester and Jake Barrett all in good form in the NEAFL.

Sydney are unlikely to make too many changes to their winning lineup. Zak Jones is in some doubt after suffering a head knock last weekend.

AFL Live Brisbane Lions vs Hawthorn Hawks Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 09 match will be kick off at The Gabba Stadium, Woolloongabba, Australia, Sunday 20 May 2018 online, 15:20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

AFL Live Streaming

After squandering their Round 8 clash in the dying stages to Sydney, Hawthorn will be out to atone for that defeat when they travel to Brisbane to take on the Brisbane Lions on Sunday May 20.

The 3.20PM clash is one of three AFL games for the day and the action can be seen live on Channel 7 and Fox Sports.

Hawthorn have been the superior side thus far in 2018, winning five of eight, while the Brisbane Lions are yet to register a win.

The Hawks come off a narrow loss to the Sydney Swans in Round 8 in what was regarded as one of the games of the season, going down to the likely top four side by eight points.

Alistair Clarkson’s side will jump as favourites in this one but Brisbane will be no easybeats, despite their win-loss record and standing on the ladder.

The Lions are winless and in bottom spot but they have been competitive in a number of games this season and at their last appearance at the GABBA, they were narrow losers to Collingwood in what was a quality affair in Round 7. They have since gone down to the Western Bulldogs by 14 points at Etihad Stadium in Round 8.

An added dimension to this clash is that it will be the first appearance of the former Hawthorn hero, and three time premiership winning skipper, Luke Hodge, against his former side.

The two time Norm Smith Medalist transferred from the Hawks to the Lions at the end of 2017 and has added some much needed experience to the Brisbane Lions back half. In another connection between the two clubs, the current Brisbane coach, Chris Fagan, was a long standing lieutenant for the Hawks coach, Alistair Clarkson, during the Hawks dominant era from 2008 to 2015.

Hawthorn dominate Brisbane in a number of statistical measures. They rank higher at winning the contested possessions and clearances, while their forward line boasts two of the competition’s leading goal kickers in Luke Breust and Jack Gunston.

However, the Lions have a number of younger players that are showing some promise and with the likes of Dayne Zorko, Stefan Martin, Charlie Cameron and Mitch Robinson in the line up they are a chance in front of their home fans.

The Bulldogs have thawed out after their Ballarat trip and are back in the comfortable confines of Etihad Stadium on Saturday night against a Brisbane side that still has not secured a win in 2018. They certainly get the participation award for ‘Trying Really Hard’ (a prestigious award Wolfie managed to snare in Year 4 Piano classes) the Lions- but they just cannot convert competitiveness into scoreboard pressure and they will need to be at their best to compete with a Bulldogs engine room that is full of class.

Western Bulldogs (WLLWW) – Last round was the first time the Dogs have won two games in a row since Round 20 last year- a sad indictment on their horrid inconsistency but also a sign things finally look to be turning around. Jack Macrae is in Brownlow Medal-winning form, and the defence is doing a wonderful job with so much talent and depth missing.

Brisbane (LLLLL) – The poor old Lions. They do a good job of wearing their prey down, before letting it slip away into the wilderness, every damn time. Several football pundits had a sniff of an upset in the Pies game, and it so very nearly came to fruition before the extra class and experience of the Pies won out. At least Dayne Zorko finally got a touch again.

The Bulldogs have won 4 of the past 5 meetings with an average winning margin of 42
Jack Macrae has registered 120+ Fantasy points in 4 games this season
Brisbane have not won a 1st quarter this season, with a percentage of just 41%
Over/Under is 1-4 in Bulldogs home games in 2018
The Lions have covered the spread in their last 2 matches
Lachie Hunter is averaging 29 disposals a game in 2018

The Wolf is a big admirer of what Chris Fagan is doing up in Brisbane with his Lion cubs, but is siding with the Dogs at Etihad Stadium, in what should be a more free-flowing game than many have in recent times. Hard to see how the Lions can compete against the outside ball-winners of the Dogs, who should pump plenty of ball into the forward 50- where they are ranked first in the competition for inside 50 marks.
