Australian Football League Geelong Cats vs Melbourne Demons Live Stream Free, AFL 2019 Round 02 Live Stream. Geelong Cats vs Melbourne Demons match will be kickoff at GMHBA Stadium, South Geelong, Australia, Saturday 30 March 2019 online, 19:25 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The two sides had contrasting results in AFL Round 1 and the action gets underway at 7.25PM. The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.
Geelong were stirring winners over Collingwood in AFL Round 1, defeating last year’s Grand Finalists by seven points in a tight tussle at the MCG.
The same cannot be said for Melbourne, who were on the receiving end of one of a number of upsets in the opening round, going down to Port Adelaide by 26.
Heading into the season, the Demons were expected to be one of the major contenders for the 2019 flag and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back.
Max Gawn comes off a relatively quite game in the ruck but should be able to exert some influence, while Nathan Jones, Jack Viney and Clayton Oliver are other players that need to lift on their output.
The Cats unveiled a number of young players that showed plenty of promise against Collingwood and their enthusiasm rubbed off on the likes of Tim Kelly, Patrick Dangerfield and Gary Ablett, who were outstanding. That trio should give Geelong the upper hand in what shapes as a massive game for both clubs.
Steven May is set to play his first game for Melbourne after missing Round 1 due to suspension. Brayden Preuss may come in to give Max Gawn some relief in the ruck but will need to pass a fitness test.
Geelong don’t have too many fitness concerns and may head in unchanged. Zac Smith is a chance to come back into the side.
Geelong have an excellent record over Melbourne but it was the Demons that fired in last year’s Elimination Final, taking out that encounter by 29 points. Clayton Oliver was one of the stars for the Demons, while Sam Weideman booted three majors in that game. Gary Ablett was Geelong’s best.
The Cats had won 14 of 15 games against the Demons prior to that, including a stunning after-the-siren victory in Round 18 last year. They have won eight of their past nine against the Demons in Geelong.
