AFL Footy Melbourne Demons vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Free Live Stream 21 May 2017 Sunday Online

Australian Football League Live Melbourne Demons vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Stream Free, AFL 2017 Seasons Week 09. Melbourne Demons vs North Melbourne Kangaroos match will be kickoff at MCG Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Saturday 20 May 2017 online, 15:20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

AFL Footy Online 2017

This is an important clash for both sides for different reasons. Will North post their second win of the season or can Melbourne continue their strong momentum and push for a finals place?

First bounce is at 3:20PM AEST on Sunday afternoon at the MCG and the action can be seen on Channel 7 and Fox Sports. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

Melbourne Demons announced themselves as the real deal in Adelaide last week. They won the game against the Crows well after trailing early and look like they could be a finals contender if they can keep that form up.

North Melbourne, on the other hand, continue to struggle. They were outplayed for four quarters at home against a struggling Sydney Swans side.

The Kangaroos do get the services of Jarrad Waite back this week and he is a very important member of the side.

North Melbourne will have a clear advantage in the ruck with Todd Goldstein. If he can dominate against the Demons third and fourth string ruck division and the Roos can take advantage of the dominance we might get a close contest in this match.

However the Demons are ranked 2nd in contested possessions and should be able to nullify the North Melbourne midfielders enough to take the game away from them.

After dropping their Round 7 clash to North Melbourne, the Adelaide Crows get their chance to bounce back when they take on the Melbourne Demons at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday night, May 13.

The 7.40PM clash pits the ladder leading Crows up against 10th placed Melbourne and will be broadcast on Fox Sports. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

Adelaide are a game clear on the top of the AFL ladder and take on a Melbourne side that were rolled by Hawthorn by three points at the MCG last weekend.

After a promising start to the year, the Demons have lost four of their past five and have struggled with the absence of Max Gawn in the ruck after the big man went down with a hamstring injury a few weeks ago.

Adelaide’s Sam Jacobs ranks 5th in the competition for total hitouts and in the absence of Gawn the big ‘sauce’ should have no trouble in giving the likes of Rory Sloane and Matt Crouch first use of the ball.

Sloane comes off a quiet game last weekend, when the previously unbeaten Crows went down to North Melbourne by 59 points.

That game was lost in the first quarter after the Roos slammed on 10 goals to nothing. Adelaide will look to address their slow starts as they were also sluggish against Richmond a fortnight ago before overcoming the Tigers.

Melbourne will need big game from Jack Viney and Nathan Jones but will look to some of their lesser lights to shine and play four quarters of solid footy. Christian Petracca, Christian Salem and Tomas Bugg are among those that need to lift and were in and out of the game against the Hawks last week.

Statistically, the two sides compare similarly in terms of possession. Both figure among the top teams for total disposals. Adelaide have won more contested possessions, while Melbourne are in front in terms of uncontested possession.

A key difference is Adelaide’s potent attack. The Crows average a whopping 127 points per game and have been lethal at Adelaide Oval this year.

It is hard to see Melbourne’s back six limiting the likes of Taylor Walker and Eddie Betts but if they use the Kangaroos game as a blueprint, they are an outside chance of causing an upset.

Sunday afternoon AFL action sees the Melbourne Demons take on the Hawthorn Hawks at the MCG at 3.20PM and after another capitulation last weekend it will be interesting to see how the Hawks respond against the Demons, who will be out to make it two wins in a row.

First bounce is at 3.20PM and the action can be seen on Channel 7 and Fox Footy. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

Melbourne come off a 38 point win over Essendon in Round 6 and after an error-riddled first half, the undersized Demons came to the fore with an eight goal to two third term.

Hawthorn, who sit in 17th position on the ladder, endured another horror day, this time at the hands of St Kilda, who capitalised on a stack of turnovers from the brown and gold to win by 75 points.

The Hawks have plenty of headaches at the moment and clearly need a better system when heading inside their forward 50. And despite the arrival of new recruit, Tom Mitchell, who has been one of the few shining lights, the Hawks still struggle to win the contested football. They are ranked 17th in this area.

Melbourne fare much better and are 7th in the competition for contested possessions, while they lead the way for total disposals. Clayton Oliver, Nathan Jones and former Hawk, Jordan Lewis, have been finding plenty of the footy and should pose plenty of problems for the under siege Hawk defenders, who have conceded an average of 118 points per game, the most of any side in the competition.

Look for Christian Petracca, Jack Watts and Jeff Garlett to continue their good form inside forward 50m for the Dees. That trio combined for 11 goals in the recent win over the Bombers.

For Hawthorn to give themselves a chance, they will need to display the hunger that was evident in their sole win to date, a 50 point victory over West Coast a fortnight ago, while the ruck is one area in which the brown and gold may have an advantage, due to the absence of Melbourne’s Max Gawn and Jake Spencer.

Ben McEvoy should give the Hawks first use against the undersized Demons but the question will be whether or not the Hawks can capitalise at ground level.

Another Hawthorn loss will see them slip to 1-6, their worst start to a year since 2010. Interestingly, the Hawks recuperated that year to play finals but the differences between todays group and the class of 2010 seem to be poles apart.

At stake for Melbourne is a spot in the top eight. They currently occupy 8th position but need to secure a vital four points, given that they will likely be in the bottleneck for a spot later on.

First bounce is at 1.10PM and all the action can be seen on Fox Footy. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

The Bombers improved their record to 3-2 with a big win against rivals Collingwood in the traditional Anzac Day game, leading from start to finish to defeat the Magpies by 18 points at the MCG.

Essendon went into the final change with a nine-point lead but the Bombers virtually killed the contest when they kicked three unanswered goals in the opening nine minutes to take a 26-point lead.
Joe Daniher was outstanding for the Bombers and the forward took out the Anzac Day Medal as best afield. Daniher kicked 3.4 from 16 possessions, and also had three goal assists, eight marks and a team-high six inside 50s. Zach Merrett, Dyson Heppell and Jobe Watson were all busy around the contests all day.

Melbourne gave up a 20-point three quarter time lead as the Richmond Tigers roared home to a 13-point win at the MCG on Anzac Day eve. Star forward and two-time Coleman medalist Jack Riewoldt was a match winner, kicking six goals to star in the game.

The Dees had control of the game until three quarter time but could never turn that into a big enough lead to completely block out Richmond’s hopes. Richmond kicked 5.5 to 0.2 in the final quarter to take out the win. Michael Hibberd was prolific on his debut for the Demons with 27 possessions across half-back as well as a goal. Clayton Oliver was also in the Demons bests.

The Melbourne Demons take on the Fremantle Dockers in what should be an intriguing clash at the MCG on Easter Saturday, April 15.

The two sides had some contrasting results last weekend and will be itching to register another win, as the ladder begins to settle after the first few weeks of AFL action.

The Round 4 encounter will be broadcast on Fox Footy, while AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

Little more than a week ago the Demons would have headed in as raging favourite’s for this one but such is the changing nature of early season football, the result is a bit of a guessing game after some contrasting fortunes for either side in Round 3.

Heading into last weekend, Melbourne were undefeated and Fremantle were winless but that all changed in the space of a few hours.

A wasteful Melbourne were overrun by Geelong in the last quarter of their Round 3 clash and ended up 29 points to the worse, while Fremantle surprised everyone in knocking over the reigning premiers, the Western Bulldogs, by 16 points at Domain Stadium.

The Dockers head into this as $3.45 outsiders but represent the value after their turnaround in fortunes as Melbourne will be without a number of key players, including big Maxy Gawn, who went down with a hamstring injury against the Cats.

It will be interesting to see if Freo can continue on from where they left off last weekend. Ross Lyon’s side took the game on from half back and moved the ball swiftly to their forwards in Round 3. With a host of inclusions against the premiers, the Dockers looked refreshed and can trouble the Dees if they play with similar dare on the weekend.

Melbourne have set the pace in the early rounds in terms of a number of statistical measures and have really only had one poor quarter of football all year, the final term last week.

The Dees lead the competition for total disposals, as well as uncontested possessions, and should be suited at the MCG, the venue where they knocked over Carlton in Round 2.

Key players for the home side include Clayton Oliver and Nathan Jones, while Jeff Garlett and Jack Watts will look to finish off for the home side up forward. For the Dockers, look for Nathan Fyfe to continue his solid form in his comeback year, while Michael Walters, Shane Kersten and Cam McCarthy will be the focal points up forward.

One of the big games of AFL Round 3 will be when two of the undefeated sides of the competition, the Geelong Cats and the Melbourne Demons, go at it at Etihad Stadium.

After escaping with a one-point win at the venue last weekend, the Cats have been installed as favourites for the encounter that gets underway at 4.35PM.

Fox Footy will broadcast the game live, while AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

Despite both sides winning their two games to date, Geelong head in as firm favourites. The Cats finished 3rd last year, while Melbourne failed to make the finals, finishing in 11th position.

Last year’s Brownlow Medalist, Patrick Dangerfield, continues to dominate for the blue and white hoops, as does his partner in crime, Joel Selwood. That pair have ben instrumental in the wins so far against Fremantle and North Melbourne. Dangerfield looms as a likely match winner.

Melbourne’s improvement over the three years of Paul Roos’ tenure has extended to 2017 under new coach Simon Goodwin. The Demons won their Round 1 clash against St Kilda by 30 points and knocked over Carlton by 23 last weekend.

They lead the competition for total disposals and unlike Geelong, don’t overly rely on a couple of players. If Goodwin can find a way to shut Dangerfield and Selwood out of the game, his side is in with a great chance, but therein lays the challenge.

The Demons will look to control the game with uncontested possessions and rank 1st in this area compared to Geelong, who are 12th. Melbourne should also have an advantage in the ruck and are ranked 5th for hitouts, while Geelong are last in this measure.

The Cats will also need to get off to a better start this time around. They were slow out of the blocks against North Melbourne and can ill afford any lapses on Saturday.

Can the Dees make it two in a row, or will Carlton score their first win for the season?

This Sunday features the showdown of two teams on the complete opposite spectrum of their development. Melbourne are just starting to come out of their rebuild and made a great start to life under Simon Goodwin last week in their 30 point win over the Saints. The Demons had a slow start but kicked into gear, and the Saints were no match for their hard-running game style. It is already evident that Goodwin will produce a risk-taking, attacking team for the opposition. This was clear when multiple times last week, Goodwin had up to 9 players start on the defensive side of the square and storm in to give his team the advantage. The Saints were left shell-shocked and under prepared for the wave of Melbourne numbers storming into their defensive 50. Of course, it’s easy to do this when you are 99% guaranteed to win the centre ruck with the most dominant ruck in the league.

Compare that to the Blues. A team just starting on their journey. Now into the second year of Bolton’s reign, it is clear that this will be a long year. Many expect Carlton to take a backwards step after last year’s unexpectedly good season. Carlton won 4 straight at one point in a competitive start to the year. However, they dramatically fell away after that. The Blues have stated many time this preseason that they will be playing kids. This is all fair to do, but there still has to be progression. There has to be signs there moving in the right direction. Carlton has won four of the past 5 against Melbourne all at the MCG with the last two being convincing wins (58 and 61 points respectively). Last year, Patrick Cripps stared in this fixture with 30 disposals and a goal on his way to collecting 3 votes.

Last week the Dee’s torched the Saints with their attacking ball movement and game style. This will be key this week as the MCG is a bigger and wider ground. It is important for the Dees to look for the risky option and try to put the young Carlton defenders under pressure consistently.

This week’s key player is Jesse Hogan. Hogan will likely get Plowman or Marchbank and will need to dominate this match up for the Dees to win. With playing on a young defender, it’s important for Hogan to try and get as many one on one opportunities as possible to keep the pressure on. He must take his opportunities as he is his own worst enemy sometimes.

2017 promises to be a big one for St Kilda and the Melbourne Demons with both sides tipped to continue their march up the ladder.

The two sides just missed out on finals action last year and face each other on Saturday March 25, one of the nine games scheduled for the weekend.

The Etihad Stadium clash gets underway at 4.35PM and will be broadcast on Fox Footy, while AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

This shapes as one of the most intriguing games of the round and both sides will be desperate to kick off their campaigns with a win.

St Kilda finished 9th with 12 wins last season, while Melbourne were 11th with 10 wins. Both sides won two of their three games in the recent JLT Community Series.

Little separates the two sides in early betting for the Round 1 encounter and both have been posted at $1.92 with CrownBet in the head to head betting.

St Kilda have a terrific record against Melbourne and will look to apply plenty of pressure on the Demons ball carriers in Jack Viney, Nathan Jones and Dom Tyson.

It will be interesting to see how Melbourne respond in the middle of the ground. In previous years the Dees have been inconsistent and lacked resilience when challenged but with the former Hawthorn premiership player, Jordan Lewis, and the fit and firing, Clayton Oliver, the Demons do have some weapons.

However, St Kilda should not be underestimated. Alan Richardson’s side have their fair share of midfield guns and if they provide their dynamic forward line with plenty of supply, it could be a similar tale for Melbourne. Look for Josh Bruce, Tim Membrey and Paddy McCartin to make their presence felt up forward.

With new coach Simon Goodwin at the helm, the Demons are tipped to play an attacking style of football this year. They should get first use of the ball via big Maxy Gawn in the ruck but will need to make the most of their opportunities up forward.

The much-maligned Watts had been overlooked for his side’s first two JLT Community Series fixtures, with new coach Simon Goodwin making it clear the 25-year-old needed to take his game to a new level before earning selection.

Watts was picked to make his first appearance for 2017 against the Eagles at Domain Stadium tomorrow night and checked in with his teammates at Melbourne airport this morning.

Jack Trengove, Dom Tyson and Colin Garland were also selected to have their first runs of the pre-season series.

Jones said Watts, who finished fifth in Melbourne’s best-and-fairest last season, had responded well after being challenged over recent weeks.

“The role of our coaches is to continually push our players to get better, both individually and as a team, and Wattsy was encouraged to take another step,” Jones said.

“Being in the system as long as he had and performing as strong as he did last year, we still see there being a lot of potential in Wattsy getting even better as a player.

“I think that was the message from the time he reviewed his season proper last year and got back into pre-season (training).

“He was under no illusions that we were expecting him to get better again and continue to strive to improve.“I think Goody’s just taken the approach that he sees a lot of potential in Wattsy, he’s supporting him and encouraging him, but at the same time he’s pushing him to get better.”

AFL Live Melbourne Demons vs Carlton Blues Stream AFL JLT Series 2017 Pre Seasons match will be kick off at Casey Fields Stadium, Cranbourne East, Victoria, Australia, Saturday 25 February 2017 online, 14.05 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

For everything that Carlton have already achieved this season, this shapes as their most important match. The Blues kept the Crows goalless in the first half, but were overrun late in what was a disappointing finish. To make matters worse, they lost the influential Brianna Davey with a back injury for this match, while Sarah Last will sit out the rest of the year with a knee injury.

Davey has the second most disposals in the league this year and her loss will be massive. Bianca Jakobsson is the only other Blue inside the top 35 ball winners in the league. The Blues have called in Tahni Nestor and Jessica Kennedy.

The Demons have rebounded superbly from their shock opening round loss to the Lions, knocking off the Bulldogs and Collingwood in the past two weeks. Melbourne took control of last week’s game against the Dogs in the second quarter and helped along by a breakout match from Alyssa Mifsud, who kicked three goals, ran out 14-point winners.

While Mifsud was the headline act, it was the on-ball trio of Daisy Pearce, Elise O’Dea and Karen Paxman who provided the point of difference, combining for 72 possessions. Pearce in particular is franking her reputation as one of the most influential players in the league and she may well lead the Demons to a Grand Final appearance. Aliesha Newman comes into Melbourne’s side for Sarah Jolly.

With no Davey to direct play for the Blues, this shapes as a great opportunity for Melbourne to further build their momentum.
