AFL Live North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Melbourne Demons Streaming Free 2017 Regular Seasons Round 19 match will be kick off at Spotless Stadium, Sydney, NSW, Australia, Saturday 29 July 2017 online, 13:45 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Round 19 clash shapes as a bit of a danger game for Melbourne, who do not want to let this one slip. The Demons sit in 7th position on the AFL ladder and could find themselves in 4th position should they win, however, a loss could see them level on points with 11th placed St Kilda.
Simon Goodwin’s side come off an impressive 23-point win over Port Adelaide at the MCG last weekend and have won six of their past eight games, but they went down to North Melbourne the last time the two sides met.
That encounter was in Round 9 but after winning their Round 10 clash against Carlton, the wheels have since fallen off at North as they have dropped their last seven matches.
However, the Roos do have a good record at Blundstone Arena and defeated Adelaide at the venue by 59 points earlier this season, while they have not lost to Melbourne since 2006.
In this contest, Melbourne should hold the advantage in the midfield, particularly at winning the contested possessions and the clearances. Look for Jack Viney and Clayton Oliver to get on top in this part of the ground and if they can supply enough of the footy to the likes of Jesse Hogan, Jeff Garlett and Christian Petracca they should have too much firepower.
North Melbourne have been competitive in a number of their losses but will have to do it with a stack of inexperienced players, including up to eight that have played less than 10 AFL games.
Melbourne will be out to end one of the competition’s longest hoodoos by ending a 16-match losing sequence against North.
They came close at the venue last season when a late snap from Billy Stretch sailed wide, giving North a five-point win in Round 3.
The Round 9 clash this season was held at the MCG and it was a 14-point win for North, who were well served by Todd Goldstein and Ben Cunnington.
North Melbourne have a massive injury list but should regain their key defender, Robbie Tarrant, while Todd Goldstein may earn a recall after dominating at VFL level last weekend. Melbourne are unlikely to make too many changes with Nathan Jones expected to return in Round 20.
