AFL Live Gold Coast Suns vs Port Adelaide power Stream AFL 2016 Seasons Week 23 match will be kick off at Carrara Stadium, Carrara, Queensland, Australia, Saturday 27 August 2016 online, 19.25 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
No finals for either side this year, and both need to iron out inconsistencies for 2017.
Gold Coast are coming off two very poor performances down in Melbourne, losing to Essendon and getting thumped by Collingwood which did a disservice to their previous form, when going down by narrow margins to Melbourne and GWS.
Port have lost three in a row, but last week’s match against Adelaide was the best of them, a tough and brutal affair. The Power couldn’t display that form in previous weeks, when putting in limp performances against Melbourne and Sydney.
Gold Coast won the first ever clash between the two sides, but Port has won the last five, four of which have been at Metricon.
Gold Coast have won five from ten at Metricon this year, at -28% POT and 50% ATS. Seven of the ten matches have gone over the total match points.
Port have five wins from nine interstate matches this season, at +20% POT and 56% ATS, as opposed to four wins from 12 matches in Adelaide. The Power have won four of five matches in Queensland under Ken Hinkley.
Firstly, there isn’t much in this game I have much faith in but with Port flying up a team of rookies to the Gold Coast, it surprises me that you can still get the Suns at $3.10. They should be favourites in my book. My book also tells me to keep an eye out for Aaron Hall. He’s paying $3 for most Fantasy points along with $2.50 for most kicks.
Port got themselves up for last week’s showdown against Adelaide, producing some of their best football of the year, but such a spike in effort may leave them mentally taxed coming into the last round of the year, and already with one eye on the off-season.
Gold Coast were poor in their last two matches, both played at Etihad Stadium, but their Metricon form has been rock solid, winning three of their last four there, and only going down narrowly to GWS in the other. The Power can’t usually be trusted, but the Suns at home can be, and they look an excellent bet.
