The Collingwood Magpies take on Richmond Tigers on Sunday, April 29 in what promises to be a blockbuster showdown in front of a massive crowd at the MCG.

All the action can be seen live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy from 3:00 pm, with the game commencing at 3:20 pm.

Any fear of a premiership hangover for the Richmond Tigers has been quickly eradicated after just five rounds. The Tigers are showing that 2017 was no fluke. They play fast, with aggression and most importantly, immense pressure.

The Tigers are breaking new ground and old stereotypes with every passing week. They are on top of the AFL ladder for the first time since 1995 and for the first time since sports betting has been legal in Australia, Richmond are premiership favourites.

The Tigers have won 11 consecutive games at the MCG, a streak that dates back to Round 13, 2017. During that 11-game span, the Tigers have an average winning margin of 38.9 points and have held their opponents to an average of just 61 points.

Both Richmond and Collingwood are coming off short breaks, having both been involved in the Anzac Eve and Anzac Day games. The Tigers do get the extra day’s rest, having played on the Tuesday Night.

The Tigers simply demolished Melbourne after quarter-time, running away 46-point winners. It was a scrappy first-quarter, with only three goals kicked for the term. After that, it was all Richmond, with the Tigers kicking 13 goals to seven.

The pressure from the Tigers was immense. This made for a hard-fought contest that included a combined 342 contested possessions and 157 tackles.

Collingwood was also involved in a tight first-quarter tussle before streaking away with a dominant 49-point victory on Anzac Day. The Pies were made to work in the first-term, but limited a stagnant Essendon to just one goal between quarter-time and three-quarter time.

The Pies are surprisingly many so far this season, including myself who had them well out of the top-eight at the start of the season. The Pies have now won three matches in a row, with wins over Carlton, Adelaide and Essendon.

The one worry I have about Collingwood is, they were beaten convincingly in Clearances by Essendon (34-25) and 26-11 at Stoppages. That stat obviously didn’t amount to anything on the day, however, if they allow Richmond to rack up those clearances, we will see a vastly different result on Sunday.

Round 7 will continue on ANZAC Day Eve when the Dees and the Tigers clash on the MCG. Melbourne were diabolical last round, going down by 67 points to the Hawks, despite starting as favourites. Richmond, on the other hand, smashed the hapless Lions by 93 points and look primed to get their 4th win at the ‘G this year from 4 games.

Melbourne (LWWL) – Melbourne did what Melbourne do best last round- disappoint their supporters. In a game where they were favourites; they were out-worked, out-skilled, out-thought and simply found wanting against a Hawthorn side that clearly wanted to win more and did- despite having 3 game-ending injuries during the match!

Richmond (WLWW) – If there were any doubts about how much the Tiges love the ‘G, they were well and truly dispelled with their massive 93 point win over a hapless Lions side. Perhaps more can be read into the tough-fought win over the Hawks in Round 3, when Trent Cotchin led his side to a 13 point win despite strong games from Hawks Mitchell, McEvoy and Roughead.

Melbourne+Demons+vs+Richmond+Tigers+Live
Who knows what Demons side to expect! Either way, what we do know, is these Tigers are flying- and they have made themselves incredibly hard to beat at the ‘G. The Wolf thinks Melbourne (quite rightly) should come out fired up and full of fight- but is expecting the stingy Richmond defence to be able to absorb that pressure and allow their midfield to run over the top of them late in the game.

The Richmond Tigers take on the Brisbane Lions at the MCG on Saturday April 14, one of five games for the day and the action gets underway at the traditional time slot of 2.10PM.

The Tigers head in as firm favourites for the encounter but the Lions pushed the undefeated Port Adelaide last weekend and are not without a chance. Fox Sports 3 will broadcast the game live.

This one pits last year’s premiers, Richmond, up against the wooden spooners, Brisbane, and the odds are understandably skewed in favour of the yellow and black.

Damien Hardwick’s side have been good so far this year, displaying their class in wins over Carlton and Hawthorn, while dropping their tough Round 2 match on the road against Adelaide.

Brisbane have shown some positive signs but have been unable to break through for a win. They were in contention deep into their first two games before going down to St Kilda in Round 1 and Melbourne in Round 2, before just missing out by five points against Port Adelaide last weekend.

Chris Fagan’s side can take some momentum into this week’s game. His side rank 2nd in the competition for clearances, while Richmond are 13th in this measure. Stefan Martin has been brilliant in the ruck and should give the Lions first use of the footy.

However, the Lions blue collar midfield that boasts Dayne Zorko and Mitch Robinson will need to be at their absolute best to match the likes of Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin.

Those two have been amongst the best players so far this season for Richmond, while it is the Tigers pressure that has once again been a barrier for their opposition to overcome.

One of the big games of AFL Round 3 will be when last years premiers, Richmond, take on Hawthorn at the MCG on Sunday at 1.10PM.

The Tigers head in as slight favourites for the match and all the action can be seen live on Fox Footy.

Richmond come off a Round 2 loss at the hands of the Adelaide Crows, the side they beat in the Grand Final last season. The Tigers went down by 36 points at the Adelaide Oval and will be out to make amends for what was their first loss since early August in 2017.

They face a Hawthorn outfit that will be full of confidence after finally winning a close one against their modern-day rivals, Geelong. The Hawks let a 25-point lead slip late in the game but were good enough to sneak home by a solitary point. The victory made it two wins from as many games for Alistair Clarkson’s side.

A highlight of the game on Sunday will be the battle in the midfield. Hawthorn were able to match motors with Geelong’s star studded on-ball division last weekend and the likes of Tom Mitchell and Jaegar O’Meara will be out to do it again, this time against Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and co.

Last year’s Brownlow Medalist, Martin, has started the year off in impressive fashion, however, it is Mitchell that has been capturing plenty of attention and the ball magnet has registered a staggering 94 disposals in the first two games this year.

Richmond will be mindful of curbing his influence, while they will also need to negate Hawthorn’s forwards as the premiers from 2013-2015 have been impressive in attack thus far. Jarryd Roughead was a match winner against Geelong and Richmond’s Alex Race will need to lift after having a rare off night in the loss to Adelaide.

Expect the Tigers to come out with plenty of intensity and their trademark forward half pressure should be on show. With Hawthorn in promising early form, this should be one of the better games of Round 3.

Round 2 of the AFL home and away season opens up with what should be a cracking game between last year’s Grand Finalists, the Adelaide Crows and Richmond.

The Crows head in as favourites despite going down in the decider last year and the action gets underway at 7.20PM AEST at the Adelaide Oval.

Richmond kicked off their premiership defence with a 26-point win over Carlton in the season opener last weekend. The Tigers stamped their authority in the last term to kick clear against their younger opponents.

Adelaide come off a loss against Essendon at Etihad Stadium. The Crows led the Bombers by 20 points at three quarter time but conceded six of the last seven goals to go down.

Don Pyke’s side will be keen to rebound and a number of their big-name players had quiet games including Eddie Betts, who was held goalless. The mercurial forward booted 55 majors in 2017 and returns to Adelaide Oval for the first time this year.

A pleasing sign for the Crows was the debut performance of their new recruit, Bryce Gibbs. The former Blue picked up 35 disposals, while Rory Laird and Matt Crouch both picked up 40 possessions.

The battle between these players and the likes of Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin in the middle of the ground will be one of the highlights on Friday.

Last year’s Brownlow Medallist, Martin, tuned up with a 32 possession performance against the Blues, setting up the likes of Jack Riewoldt, Jacob Townsend and Josh Caddy, who combined for 11 goals.

The Tigers forward pressure that was a hallmark of their 2017 season was on display and the Crows will need to find a way to overcome this on Friday. If they don’t, they will find themselves in rare territory with a 0-2 win-loss record to kick off the season.

AFL Live Stream 2018

The long wait for the 2018 AFL home and away season to begin will be over on Thursday March 25 when Richmond take on Carlton in the traditional season opener at the MCG.

The Tigers head in as favourites for the big clash that gets underway at 7.25PM. All the action can be seen live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.

Richmond begin their quest to go back to back after last year’s drought breaking premiership and will unfurl their flag in front of what should be a crowd of over 80,000 people.

The Tigers will be out to avoid the dreaded hangover this year, something that beset the 2016 winners, the Western Bulldogs, last year and all signs have been positive so far in the pre-season.

Damien Hardwick’s men looked super impressive in both of their JLT Community Series games, defeating Essendon by 87 and North Melbourne by 70. They head into this as $1.20 favourites in early markets with CrownBet.

Carlton have been steadily improving under coach Brendan Bolton, who enters his third year in charge of the Blues. Their host of younger players, including Jacob Wietering, Patrick Cripps and Caleb Marchbank have been impressive. If those players combine with the likes of Marc Murphy and Kade Simpson their side is in with a chance.

However, the task at hand in this particular game does seem pretty difficult for the Blues. Dustin Martin, Josh Caddy, Shane Edwards and Alex Rance are just a handful of familiar names that have looked good in the pre-season and the Tigers should have too many answers on Thursday.

Richmond will be without at least two of their premiership heroes in Daniel Rioli (foot) and Nathan Broad (suspension), while there are slight doubts on Bachar Houli.

Carlton have stated that Matthew Kruezer will be ok to line up despite concerns over an ankle injury. Sam Rowe, Darcy Lang and Jarrod Garlett are among others that will be assessed at training during the week.

Richmond have won their past six against Carlton by an average margin of just over four goals. The Tigers won the corresponding game last year by 43 points. Dustin Martin has been a dominant force in recent times in games between the two sides, while Patrick Cripps has been a solid contributor for the Blues.

AFL JLT Series Live Essendon Bombers vs Richmond Tigers Streaming Free 2018 AFL Pre Seasons match will be kick off at Norm Minns Oval, Sports complex in Victoria, Australia, Saturday 24 February 2018 online, 16:35 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

2018 JLT Series Live

Richmond are set to feature the bulk of their premiership team while Essendon will be without a string of their best players in Saturday’s AFL pre-season clash in Wangaratta.

Only three Richmond grand final heroes are likely to miss the JLT Community Series match – injured duo Daniel Rioli and Dion Prestia, along with Nathan Broad who will miss the first three home-and-away matches due to suspension.

In contrast, Essendon will begin their pre-season campaign without Michael Hurley, Cale Hooker, Orazio Fantasia and ruckman Tom Bellchambers, but their three big-name recruits – Jake Stringer, Devon Smith and Adam Saad – are all set to feature.

The Bombers’ 26-man squad includes captain Dyson Heppell, Zach Merrett, Joe Daniher, David Zaharakis and the club’s other ruck option Matthew Leuenberger.

Essendon coach John Worsfold said players were missing the club’s opening JLT clash as part of their pre-season management.

‘‘Those guys (Hurley, Hooker, Fantasia and Bellchambers) were part of a crew of about six or seven that didn’t do a lot of work pre-Christmas, due to injuries late last year or surgeries post season,’’ Worsfold told the club’s website.

‘‘Out of those guys that were in that crew only Daniher and Heppell have done enough to come in to contention for this week. They’ll probably still be on limited preparations within the game.

‘‘Those other guys are prepping for the JLT two game, so they’ll train here and have a big hit-out on Saturday morning.’’

A bumper crowd in Wangaratta for the Saturday twilight clash is guaranteed as reigning premiers Richmond take to the field with close to the outfit that famously broke the club’s premiership drought.

AFL Grand Finale Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers Live Streaming Free 2017 Saturday 30 Sep Online

September 30, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

afl_grand_finals_Live_Stream

AFL Grand Finale Live Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers Streaming Free 2017 Grand Final match will be kick off at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Saturday 30 September 2017 online, 14:30 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

The two sides are unlikely to feature in finals this season and look to be playing for pride after losing their respective Round 17 encounters.

Fremantle went down to their local rivals, West Coast, by 30 points, while Hawthorn were rolled to the tune of three points by Geelong.

The Hawks found another way to lose a close one to their modern day foes after Isaac Smith missed a goal in the last second of the game and should be determined to bounce back, but the job won’t be easy on the road.

Freo sit in 12th position on the ladder with seven wins, while the Hawks are 13th with six victories and a draw. The Dockers are five from nine at Domain Stadium this season. Hawthorn have won two of their four interstate trips in 2017.

Little separates the two sides in a number of statistical measures. Hawthorn have found the football on more occasions this season and a key player behind this is Tom Mitchell. The ball magnet is averaging a massive 36 disposals this year and picked up a lazy 43 against Geelong last weekend.

Freo’s chief ball winner has been Lachie Neale, while Nathan Fyfe has also been finding plenty of the footy in recent weeks. Key battles will also occur in the ruck, where the young Dockers giant, Sean Darcy, takes on Ben McEvoy.

A concern for the home side is their inability to kick goals and they have averaged just 75 points per game this season. Hawthorn have improved defensively and should be able to restrict the Dockers in this part of the ground.

Another factor that points to the Hawks is that their recent form looks much superior. In the past four weeks they have played the top three teams in the comp and come away with a win, a draw and a three-point loss. Their other encounter in that time period was a four-goal win over Collingwood.

Freo’s last month reads much worse, winning just the one game, a four point win over North Melbourne. That has been the Dockers only victory in the past two months.

Richmond are fifth on the ladder with a 10-6 record following their win over the Brisbane Lions. The Tigers have now won five of their last seven clashes and have conceded more than 81 just twice since Round 1 but on both occasions, they have been blowouts of 140 and 138 points. Richmond have the fourth best defence but rank 13th in scoring.

Greater Western Sydney are third on the ladder with a 10-4-2 record. The Giants have won just one of their last five games – a 60-point win over last-placed Brisbane. GWS have played in seven games decided by eight points or fewer this year and have lost only one. The Giants rank fourth in scoring and seventh in defence.

Another under game seems to be on the cards here. Richmond are the preeminent under team in the AFL with 12 under games from 16 matches. They are a huge under team in day games at the MCG and at the MCG overall. GWS go under when they play at the MCG and have been a strong defensive unit this year.

Richmond are currently at the odds of $1.58 in the head to head betting and enjoy favouritism courtesy of the home ground advantage as well a sizzling display in the first week of the finals series when they defeated Geelong by 51 points.

The Tigers had the week off following their Qualifying Final triumph and watched on as GWS comfortably defeated West Coast by 67 points in one of last weekend’s Semi Finals. The Giants faced a sudden death clash against the Eagles after dropping their opening finals encounter to Adelaide by 36 points.

The expansion club venture down from NSW to play in their first ever final at the MCG but should head in with plenty of confidence after finding what may be the right formula to challenge Richmond.

After being criticised for being a tad too top heavy after their loss to Adelaide, the Giants fleet of runners ran amok against the Eagles. Stephen Coniglio, Lachie Whitfield, Callan Ward and Josh Kelly were among their best players, while Stevie Johnson booted six goals in his return to the side.

The Giants midfielders will look to use the wide expanses of the MCG and across the course of the year they have found more of the football than their Tigers counterparts.

This shapes as an absolute beauty and not much separates the sides in the CrownBet head to head betting. Geelong are currently a $1.75 favourite ahead of Richmond at $2.10.

The Cats won their last three games of the home and away season, including the Round 21 clash at Simonds Stadium against Richmond by 14 points. They then defeated Collingwood at the MCG by 11 points before touching up GWS to the tune of 44 in Round 23.

Following their loss to Geelong in Round 21, the Tigers responded in style by chalking up two big wins over Fremantle and St Kilda. They have won six of their past seven and should be better suited at the MCG.

Damien Hardwick’s side will be looking to bury some recent September ghosts and will not only need big games from Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin, Alex Rance and Jack Riewoldt but a host of their younger players as well.

Daniel Rioli and Jason Castagna are among a number of players that are making their finals debut and this duo will look to put a stack of pressure on the opposition defenders, something that has been a hallmark of the 2017 Tigers.

At Geelong, we can expect big games from seasoned champions in Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood, while the likes of Sam Menegola and Mitch Duncan will complement that duo beautifully in the midfield.

The clash in this part of the ground will be mouth-watering, particularly with the likes of Dangerfield and Martin going head to head. Geelong rank slightly higher for contested possessions and clearances, but the Tigers are the better defensive side.

Of interest will be the plan that Chris Scott has in store for Alex Rance. The key Tigers defender had a rare poor game the last time the two sides met, with Harry Taylor taking the points. Rance will either line up on Taylor again or Tom Hawkins, who was absent the last time the two sides met.

Richmond will be out to break one of the longest hoodoo’s in modern day football as they have not beaten Geelong since 2006. The Cats have won the past 13 clashes between the two sides, including the Round 21 encounter this season by 14 points at Simonds Stadium.

Five of the 13 games in the Cats winning streak have been held at the MCG. The two sides last squared off in in a final way back in 1995 and on that occasion, it was Geelong by 89 points.
