AFL Live St Kilda Saints vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Live Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 23 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Sunday 26 August 2018 online, 16:40 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

It was the Good Friday match against North Melbourne in Round 2 that sent the Saints season into freefall. Sitting at 1-0 and expected to make the finals, the Saints dished up one of the worst performances I have ever seen, kicking 5.13 and finishing 52-point losers.

The Saints wouldn’t win again for another 11 weeks, with a 71-point loss to the Sydney Swans at Etihad Stadium the lowest moment for the club. The Saints enjoyed a good month of footy after that, with victories against Gold Coast, Melbourne and Carlton all in a four-week timeframe.

Again, the Saints again fell away. Losses to Western Bulldogs, Richmond, GWS and Essendon all by 25 points or more had the head coach Alan Richardson in hot water. They showed up on Saturday night against the Hawks, losing by just four points in a nail-biting finish.

North Melbourne cannot make Finals, however, they still have plenty to play for, with star forward Ben Brown only two goals behind Jack Riewoldt in the Coleman Medal race. Against a St Kilda defence who has allowed over 100 points 11 times this season, Brown will fancy his chances kicking a bag.

It’s been a good season for the Kangaroos, who have won 11 matches and have lost four by 10 points or less.

Ben Jacobs (concussion) and Taylor Garner (hamstring) are likely to not return in Round 23 now that finals are not a possibility for the Kangaroos. Jarryn Geary (concussion) should be fit to play on Sunday, whilst Jake Carlisle (back) is still listed as a test.

Hawthorn come off a thrilling 11 point win over their rivals, Geelong, and that win has them firm for a top four finish at the end of the home and away season.

The premiers from 2013/14/15 sit in 4th position with two games to go and if they take out St Kilda this weekend as well as Sydney in Round 23, they will gain the double chance.

Their opponents, St Kilda, have been one of the disappointments of the season and are languishing in 15th position on the ladder with just four wins to their credit in season 2018.

Alan Richardson’s side have lost their past four matches and went down to Essendon by 43 points in Round 18. Sebastian Ross and Jack Steele were a couple that played well in that match but the Saints will need more from a host of others if they are to pull off an upset.

Hawthorn should have an edge in a number of key areas. They rank higher in a number of statistical measures and have more depth around the ground. Look for Tom Mitchell and Jaegar O’Meara to find plenty of the ball, while Luke Breust and Jack Gunston should ensure the Hawks find the formula to post a winning score.

That duo sit in the top seven players for goals scored this season and have combined for 92 majors over the course of the year. At the other end of the ground, Tim Membrey has been a solid contributor for the Saints with 30 goals but the former Swan may have his work cut out against the Hawks stingy backline.

St Kilda los Nathan Brown to suspension and a number of others may face the axe. Hunter Clark, Luke Dunstan and Hugh Goddard are in the mix for a return.

Hawthorn should regain Jarryd Roughead after the veteran forward missed the Geelong win with an ankle injury. James Sicily and Ben McEvoy continue to miss.

The two sides met earlier this year at UTAS Stadium in Launceston and it was Hawthorn by 35 points. Tom Mitchell picked up 45 possessions, while Isaac Smith booted four goals. Jack Steven and Jimmy Webster were St Kilda’s best.

The Saints claimed the corresponding game at the same venue last year by 75 points when the Hawks bottomed out early in 2017. Hawthorn have won seven of the past eight between the two sides. Two of those wins were at Etihad Stadium.

Hawthorn should be too good for the St Kilda. The Saints only chance of an upset will be if the Hawks are caught napping after their recent stirring wins. But with Alistair Clarkson at the helm it is unlikely that any complacency will cost the Hawks at this time of the season.

This match has no impact on the top-eight, with St Kilda (15th) taking on the Western Bulldogs (14th). The Dogs sit one position higher on the ladder but you wouldn’t know it. The Dogs have lost nine of their last ten matches and have dished up some of the worst footy of the year in the last month.

The Western Bulldogs have kicked over 100 points only once since their Round 8 clash against the Brisbane Lions. The Dogs have failed to kick 60 points in six of their last ten matches and have failed to kick 50 points in their last two matches.

St Kilda won only one match in the first 12 rounds but bounced back with three wins from their next four matches. Over the last fortnight, however, the Saints have fallen off again, with a 54-point loss to Richmond and a 25-point loss to the GWS Giants. Losing to the Tigers and Giants is not the issue, however, there a lack of effort and overall skill that I’m sure is concerning to Saints fans.

The Saints kicking has undoubtedly made scorelines worse for themselves this season. The Saints have kicked 180.209 in 2018, compared to their opponents 248.215.

The Bulldogs have won three of their last five matches against the Saints. The average total match score for these five games was 140.6 points. I’d be surprised if we don’t see another low-scoring match on Saturday night.

Western Bulldogs rookies Kieren Collins (Whiplash, chest, abdominal) and Roarke Smith (Concussion) will both be forced to pass fitness tests for the injuries they sustained in their car accident last week. Matt Suckling (Achilles) and Jack Redpath (Knee) have both had their seasons cut short due to injury, adding to the Dogs wretched run with injury.

With both teams struggling to score in recent times, a low-scoring scrap is predicted.

After a Round 1 victory against the Brisbane Lions, nothing has gone right for St Kilda. With Finals expectations on Alan Richardson and his men, the Saints have not performed anywhere near there best.

Saints coach Alan Richardson spoke openly on AFL360 Monday Night, saying too many of his players are out of form and his squad are not playing up to expectations.

The Saints faced a desperate Geelong team on their home deck on Sunday Afternoon and it showed, with the Cats pressure through the roof, the Saints had no answers. This was a subject that Richardson also alluded to on AFL360 “We didn’t cope with the Cats pressure well at all” Richardson said.

At 1-3, the Saints season is slowly slipping away. There inability to hit the scoreboard is concern number one. After scoring 107 points in their Round 1 victory over Brisbane, the Saints have been woeful. Round 2 vs North Melbourne (43 points), Round 3 vs Adelaide (55 Points) and Round 4 vs Geelong (56 Points).

The GWS Giants have had a pleasing start to 2018, with their only loss coming against Sydney at the SCG. The Giants dominated the Dockers on Saturday in gale force winds in Canberra. The Giants won 82-51 and had 27 scoring shots to 16, despite Fremantle having 3 more inside 50’s for the match.

Callan Ward starred for the Giants, racking up 34 disposals while Jeremy Cameron had 20 touches, 12 marks and two goals. Veteran Ryan Griffen made his long-awaited return to the Giants, he had 11 disposals and booted two goals.

Dylan Roberton is out indefinitely after suffering an irregular heartbeat during the Saints clash against Geelong last Sunday. Roberton spoke to the Media when he left hospital, he was hopeful to play in a fortnight, however, that seems highly unlikely. Tim Membrey trained well on Tuesday and he is likely to play against the Giants on Saturday.

Both Josh Kelly (Groin) and Rory Lobb (Knee) are listed as tests for the Giants. Kelly didn’t train with the team in Wednesday’s main training while Lobb did train with the team initially, but failed to complete the session.

Both players missed last week’s win over Fremantle, and while Kelly (groin soreness) sat out Wednesday’s main training run, Lobb (knee) initially hit the track with the rest of the squad, but failed to complete the session.

The GWS Giants have had mixed fortunes against the Saints at Etihad Stadium. They are 2-2 since 2014, with their two victories coming in 2015 & 2016. The Saints were too good in their most recent clash, Round 7, 2017 the Saints defeated the Giants 108-85.

The Giants are aiming to start 2018 with a 4-1 record after Round 5. If they were to win on Saturday, this would be the second consecutive year they had started 4-1. Consequently, if the Saints lose and slump to a 1-4 record, it would be the second time in three years they had started 1-4.

This is a desperation game for St Kilda. If they don’t win, they must at least show they are capable of mixing it with a class opposition and can hit the scoreboard effectively. I’m siding with the Saints at the line.

Players list:
GWS GIANTS:
B: Shaw, Davis, Buntine
HB: Deledio, Tomlinson, Haynes

St Kilda got themselves back in touch with the top 8 after a 17-point win over North Melbourne last Friday night.

The Saints snapped a three-game losing streak when they held of the Kangaroos in a scrappy clash. It was a crucial victory that squared their season at 6-6, but it came against a flat North Melbourne team that offered little resistance, with a wasteful St Kilda still unable to kill off its opponents until late.

After the Saints opened up a 42-point lead early in the fourth quarter, the Kangaroos came to life for a rare period on Friday night, kicking five late goals to cut the margin to a flattering 17 points. Seb Ross was the star for the Saints, using the ball with the poise missing from so many others to finish with a game-high 32 possessions and five clearances in a best-on-ground performance.

Despite a late comeback from the Gold Coast Suns, they couldn’t get the four points when the Carlton Blues secured a thrilling 10-point win. The Suns were trailing the entire game and fought back to take the lead in the final term before the Blues steadied.

It was a major blow for the Suns with Michael Barlow stretchered off the ground halfway through the final term after suffering a broken leg. Jarryd Lyons was impressive with 24 disposals and two goals whilst the master Gary Ablett secured 25 possessions.

A return for forward Paddy McCartin must made after he was named among the emergencies after overcoming bone bruising in his knee, with the Saints naming an unchanged side.

There is a huge blow for the Suns as they lose Gary Ablett to a calf injury and Brandon Matera (foot), Kade Kolodjashnij (concussion), Michael Barlow (broken leg) and Aaron Hall (hamstring) are also ruled out. Matt Rosa serves a suspension and Mackenzie Willis is omitted. Running defender Jarrod Harbrow returns after serving his club-imposed two-week ban for drink driving, while Rory Thompson, Touk Miller, Callum Ah Chee, Brayden Forini, Matt Shaw and Darcy McPherson all come in to the much-changed side.

St Kilda and Gold Coast meet for the 10th time and the Saints hold a narrow advantage, winning five games to four.

St Kilda have won just won game this season, which was a 25 point defeat of Brisbane that came way back in Round 1. They registered a draw against GWS in Round 5 but apart from that, their season has predominately been in freefall.

Their optimistic fans can point to the fact that their side finished off well in the recent game against West Coast, booting seven last quarter goals to one before eventually losing by 13.

But the task at hand will be difficult against a Sydney outfit that have won seven of 10 this year and generally play well on the road. The Swans have won their past four games and are primed for another top four finish.

John Longmire’s side rank higher than the Saints in a number of statistical measures. They are 6th for contested possessions and 3rd for clearances, while St Kilda are last in both of these categories.

The Saints are also struggling to penetrate the scoreboard in 2018, averaging just 68 points per game, superior to only one other side, Carlton.

For an unlikely upset to occur, they will need big performances from the likes of Seb Ross, Jack Steven and Jack Sinclair, who were all prominent last weekend, while Tim Membery and Jade Gresham will be the focal points up forward. The former Swan, Membery, booted six goals in the loss to the Eagles.

At the other end, Lance Franklin looms ominously for Sydney, while Isaac Heeney, Luke Parker and Josh Kennedy will provide plenty of depth in the middle of the ground for the favourites.

St Kilda will be sweating on the fitness of Jarryn Geary after the skipper hurt his calf in the loss to the Eagles. He is expected to miss this game. Nick Coffield and David Armitage are a chance of returning to the side.

Sydney have no immediate injuries out of the Carlton game. Dean Towers and Dan Robinson are among those with solid form in the NEAFL and may earn a recall.

Sydney have won their past eight against St Kilda, a sequence that stretches back to 2012. Three of those games have been played at Etihad.

The two sides last met in Round 18 last year and on that occasion it was Sydney by 42 points at the SCG. Earlier in the season, the Swans scored by 50 at Etihad. Lance Franklin booted a combined total of seven goals in those two games, while Callum Sinclair chipped in with five in the Round 18 game. Seb Ross was the best for St Kilda on both occasions.

St Kilda can take some hope out of the way they finished off last weekend but Sydney will have the answers. Swans by 26 points.

The Saints will be looking to put an opening round loss behind them but it will not be easy against an Eagles side that head in as firm favourite’s at their home ground.

The Round 2 clash gets underway at 6.40PM AEST and can be seen on Fox Sports 3. AFL Live Vision is also available to ALL CrownBet members. Every Match, wherever you are.

West Coast burst out of the blocks in Round 1, running out impressive 43-point winners over North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

At the same venue the day before, St Kilda’s run against Melbourne came to an end, going down to the Demons by 30 points.

The Eagles return to their happy hunting ground of Domain Stadium and have been posted as $1.15 fancies in the head-to-head betting. They have thrashed St Kilda at this venue in the past two years.

Josh Kennedy looms as a danger player for St Kilda, while the likes of Mark LeCras, Patrick Cripps and Elliot Yeo will also need to be contained by the Saints. That quartet combined for 16 goals against the Roos last weekend.

After struggling interstate last season, St Kilda has made performing on the road a priority. But without the injured Nick Riewoldt, the Saints will need their other leaders to stand up, including Jack Steven, David Armitage and Leigh Montagna. Armitage was quiet against Melbourne in Round 1, while Montagna missed with injury.

In the middle of the ground, West Coast should have too many guns. Former Hawthorn champion, Sam Mitchell, made his mark for the club last weekend and with Matt Priddis, Andrew Gaff and Luke Shuey to help out, the Eagles should dominate at the stoppages.

West Coast will be without Drew Petrie after the big man broke his hand in the first quarter of the season last weekend. Jonathan Giles is expected to be named as his replacement.

St Kilda lose Nick Riewoldt for up to two weeks but are expected to regain Paddy McCartin, who was a late withdrawal out of the Melbourne game. Leigh Montagna is also expected to return from injury.

West Coast have won their past seven against St Kilda by an average margin of 49 points. The last two games have both been at Domain Stadium with the Eagles prevailing by 103 points in Round 8 last year and by 95 points in Round 23 of 2015.

The Richmond Tigers will try and return to the winners’ list against the St Kilda Saints at the MCG on Saturday May 26. The action gets underway at 1:45pm.

All the action can be seen live on Fox Footy from 1:30pm

The Richmond Tigers played their second road game for the season and suffered their second loss against the West Coast Eagles on Sunday Afternoon.

After a 36-point loss to the Adelaide Crows in a Grand Final rematch at Adelaide Oval in Round 2, the Tigers had been almost perfect, winning six consecutive games. During those six games the Tigers had led after 23 of the 24 quarters played.

In a battle for top spot on the AFL ladder, the West Coast Eagles dominated from start to finish as Richmond led for only 4 minutes of the 121-minute contest.

Jack Darling looked like the best player on the ground, kicking six goals. The other Eagles forwards were also damaging, with Josh Kennedy and Mark LeCras chipping in with three goals a peice.

The Tigers return to their fortress, the MCG. The Tigers have won 13 consecutive games at the G’, by an average winning margin of 42 points.

The Saints should consider themselves in big trouble. A team that harboured finals expectations at the start of the season, is now sitting with one win after nine rounds and facing the Richmond Tigers, West Coast Eagles and Sydney Swans in the next three weeks.

It’s no secret that the Saints horrific goal kicking is drastically holding them back. The Saints have kicked 79.112 for the season and are averaging only 65 points per game.

AFL Live St Kilda Saints vs Collingwood Magpies Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 09 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Saturday 19 May 2018 online, 19:25 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.

The St Kilda Saints nightmare season continues. They will look to turn things around when they host the Collingwood Magpies in Round 9 at Etihad Stadium on Saturday Night.

The match will get underway at 7:25pm. All the action can be seen live on 7Mate from 7:00pm and on Fox Footy from 7:25pm (AEST).

The St Kilda football club came into 2018 with lofty expectations. A young core group led by an experienced head coach Alan Richardson had laid the foundations for finals football at the very least.

The first Eight rounds have been nothing short of a disaster for the Saints. They started 1-0 with a victory against the Brisbane Lions and have yet to register more than 73 points in a match since then.

The Saints could only manage a putrid one goal in the first half against Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Saturday Night as the Dockers held a 36-point lead at the main break. The Saints kicked 6.2 in the third-quarter and bridged the margin to within three straight kicks, but it wasn’t enough as the Dockers finished 30-point winners.

Collingwood sit 11th on the AFL ladder after eight rounds, but with a 4-4 record, Nathan Buckley and his players should be happy with the progress they have made this season. The Pies have had a tough eight-week stretch, only losing to the Hawks, Giants, Tigers and Cats.

The Pies will lament their poor goal kicking in a 21-point loss to the Cats on Sunday Afternoon. The Pies kicked 5.15 and could only manage one goal in the first half.

The Pies have gotten through the tough part of their schedule and will now play the Saints, Bulldogs, Demons, Blues, Suns and Bombers over the next six weeks, with five of those six matches here in Melbourne.

Hawthorn dropped their first four games of the year, including two by massive margin’s to Gold Coast and Geelong, before bouncing back in style with a 50 point win over West Coast at the MCG in Round 5.

St Kilda sit with a win-loss record of 2-3 and stuck with Geelong for three quarters last weekend, before being blown out of the water late in the game, going down by 38 points.

They venture down to Launceston to square their win-loss ledger and will need to make sure that they don’t give Hawthorn the freedom they enjoyed last weekend against the Eagles.

Saints coach, Alan Richardson, will explore ways to nullify the work of Hawk recruit, Tom Mitchell, who leads the competition for total disposals. The former Swan is averaging 34 touches per game. Richardson may look to Seb Ross to curb the influence of Mitchell.

Hawthorn will need a big game from not only Mitchell, but their premiership heroes as well, including the likes of Cyril Rioli, Jarryd Roughead and ruckman Ben McEvoy, who all lifted on previous performances to help steer the Hawks home last weekend.

McEvoy lines up against his former side, who have battled in the ruck this season and are ranked last for total hitouts. He will take on either Billy Longer or Tom Hickey in the middle.

Key players for St Kilda include Nick Riewoldt, Leigh Montagna and Jack Steven, while the Saints will need a lift from some of their younger players, including Luke Dunstan and Jade Gresham, who were both quiet in the loss to the Cats. Jake Carlisle is another that needs to lift. The former Bomber has been quiet in his games for his new club.

An interesting aspect of this game is the Hawks dominance at the venue. They have won their past 19 games at the venue, a sequence that stretches back to early 2012. St Kilda came close at a similar stage last year, going down by three points.

Hawthorn have a relatively healthy list of players to choose from and Jaegar O’Meara may return after experiencing knee soreness over the past fortnight. Ty Vickery, Jack Fitzpatrick and Jono O’Rourke have all impressed at VFL level and will be considered.

St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt is expected to play despite hurting his ankle in the loss to Geelong. Jack Sinclair and Paddy McCartin could come in after playing well in the VFL.

Hawthorn have won the past six against St Kilda, including last year’s clash at this venue by three points.

The Saints have been on the receiving end of some thumping’s at the hands of Hawthorn and went down to the Hawks by 145 points in Round 7 of 2014.
