Free Australian Football League Live Richmond Tigers vs Geelong Cats Live Streaming AFL 2016 Seasons Week 21 match will be kickoff at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, Sunday 14 August 2016 online, 15.20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Geelong have put together four wins in a row, of varying quality. Wins over Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs were full of merit, but they have struggled to find their best all season against lower sides like Fremantle and Essendon, who they beat, but unimpressively.
Richmond found life and hope in a win over Collingwood last round, playing a bright and energetic brand of football for the first time all year. That win followed big losses to GWS and Hawthorn, where they were bereft of run.
A stirring win against Collingwood last Friday night eased the pressure at Tigerland after it reached fever pitch ahead of round 20. That the club was able to perform with a young team – and with draftees like Oleg Markov starring – made it all the more significant. Richmond is only ever one bad loss away from being put under the spotlight, however, and Geelong has had its measure for too long. It’s been 10 years since the Tigers beat the Cats, with Brett Deledio the only current Tiger that played in that game. These teams meet with Geelong on a four-match winning streak and percentage is a focus for the premiership contender. If the Cats get a sniff of a big win don’t expect them to let up, with a place in the top four up for grabs.
Geelong were merely adequate in putting Essendon away last week, and will need to bring a sharper mindset to this game, especially given Richmond appeared to find some form last week, and could prove a tricky proposition if they get their running game going once more.
Alex Rance is a good match for Tom Hawkins, and if Daniel Menzel is out injured the forward options could dry up for Geelong. Recent matches between these sides have been on the ugly sides, and we could see something similar here, if the Cats make it a grind and cut down the Tigers ball movement.
