AFL Live Essendon Bombers vs Brisbane Lions Stream AFL 2017 Regular Seasons Round 15 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Sunday 02 July 2017 online, 13:10 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
The Bombers will be looking to bounce back into the Top 8 when they host competition stragglers Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.
Essendon have won just one of their last four matches and have fallen to 11th on the ladder with their 6-7 record. Their win over Port Adelaide in that run was highly impressive while their three losses against good teams have all been respectable. The Bombers rank sixth in scoring and 13th in defence.
The Lions sit a clear last on the ladder with just two wins for the year to go with 10 losses of 30 points or more. Brisbane have the worst defence in the AFL and have conceded at least 120 points in seven of their last nine. Brisbane’s last win out of Queensland was in Round 18 last year – against Essendon.
Essendon featured in one of the four thrillers in Round 14 and unfortunately for the Bombers it was not a happy ending.
John Worsfold’s side led by 19 points with less than four minutes to go against Sydney but after a series of late mistakes, they went down as the Swans utility, Gary Rohan, booted a goal after the siren to hand the Dons a one point loss.
The Bombers will be out to bounce back and have won six from 13 this season, sitting in 11th position on the ladder, just one win behind 7th placed West Coast.
Brisbane were not quite as close in their loss to GWS at the GABBA last weekend. The Lions were outclassed to the tune of 60 points and their star playmaker, Dayne Beams, injured his shoulder in the loss.
The Lions conceded 22 goals in the loss to the Giants and their defence continues to be a problem for the developing side, who are giving up an average of 20 goals per game in 2017.
Look for Essendon to jump out of the blocks on the weekend and slam on some early goals. The Bombers have some great form at Etihad Stadium and in recent times they have jumped Port Adelaide and West Coast at the venue.
Key players for the red and black include Joe Daniher, who sits in 3rd position on the league goal kicking table with 35 majors so far this year, while Zac Merrett should find plenty of the footy.
