AFL Live Port Adelaide Power vs Essendon Bombers Live Streaming Free 2018 Regular Seasons week 23 match will be kick off at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, SA, Australia, Friday 24 August 2018 online, 19:50 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Port Adelaide couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. The Power have wins over Brisbane, Sydney and Fremantle and hold top spot on the ladder.
The Power was ultra impressive beating Fremantle by 50 points and Sydney by 23 points at the SCG. They kicked 10 goals to four after halftime, running away comprehensive winners and stamping themselves as genuine premiership contenders.
Port Adelaide were anything but impressive against a young Brisbane Lions squad in Round 3. The Power came into the match as overwhelming favourites, with their average winning margin against the Lions at Adelaide Oval a whopping 91 points.
When the Lions lost their captain Dayne Beams to an illness prematch, it seemed as though it was going to be ‘How far Port Adelaide’ with the winning margin the only question. That was not the case, as the Power never got away from Brisbane. The Lions kicked the only three goals of the final term, but it wasn’t enough, with Port Adelaide winning by five points.
Facing the Power at Etihad Stadium is an Essendon team who is desperate for a victory. After starting the season with a tremendous win against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, the Bombers have dropped their last two matches, including a horror display against the struggling Western Bulldogs.
The Bombers were simply non-competitive, with their effort not up to AFL standard. Head coach John Worsfold spoke to the media postmatch and said “We will stick at it and we will build it and get a better understanding of it, and the players who refuse to perform that way will be putting their spots at jeopardy.”
Port Adelaide will be without Sam Powell-Pepper, who is suspended by the club for one game after he was found to have broken team rules by staying out past the 2:00am curfew and drinking excessively.
Essendon have had the wood over Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, winning four of their last five matches at the venue. Most recently in Round 12, 2017. The Bombers had 36 scoring shots on their way to a 70-point rout.
Although it’s likely Essendon will bounce back after their horror display last week, I can’t take them with any confidence whatsoever. Port Adelaide are the only team to remain undefeated through three rounds, and they look terrific value in the head-to-head market.
