AFL Live Western Bulldogs vs Melbourne Demons Stream AFL 2017 Regular Seasons Round 13 match will be kick off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Sunday 18 June 2017 online, 15:20 pm (AEDT) and its broadcast on Channel Seven, Foxtell.
Last round was one of contrasts for these two clubs. Melbourne Demons won an epic against Collingwood on Monday and the Western Bulldogs were disgraceful against an out of form Sydney Swans side.
We all know what the Doggies did at the end of last season and although they haven’t set the world on fire they are still right in the mix.
Melbourne are much improved in 2017 and just percentage separates the two sides on the ladder.
This game is a real “8-point contest”. Both sides have six wins and whoever takes out this match will increase their finals aspirations immensely.
Although the Bulldogs have the greater experience and an edge in quality through their list, I think the Demons are in a much better headspace as a unit and will prove hard to beat in this one.
Western Bulldogs have left out Matthew Boyd after last week’s defeat and Fletcher Roberts and Tim English have also been casualties of the axe. Travis Cloke and Marcus Adams are also missing through injuries. In come Dale Morris, Tom Boyd, Zaine Cordy, Tom Liberatore, Tom Campbell, Mitch Honeychurch, Lukas Webb and Bailey Williams in an extended squad.
Jake Spencer, Ben Kennedy and Sam Weideman have been named in the Melbourne Demons squad for the game.
This match really is a mouth-watering contest with very little separating the two sides statistically.
The only real difference is the Demons have hit the scoreboard a lot more than the Doggies but this is negated by the fact the Dogs have held up better in defence conceding 100 fewer points to date in 2017.
Whilst I have a healthy level of respect for the Dogs and realise they are around the mark without really hitting their straps in 2017, I think the Demons will be too good in this one.
Etihad Stadium favours the Dogs, but I was super impressed with the Demons defeat of Essendon at the ground early in the year.
Expect a hard fought contest in this match with the Demons matching the dogs for outside run and winning the contest due to a more efficient forward line.
Dogs will be too strong and show to much run and experience with Dale Morris and Tom Boyd back into the side. Dogs by 25 points.
